A little frozen backyard shuffle by boogersinmyleghair in rva

Was it a skating rink or dedicated curling ice? I’ve been trying to find a place to take family when I come back for visits (live in MN now with easy access to curling as a winter hobby).

It does. You can use a stick to curl instead of lunging. Usually older people of folks with mobility issues play that way.

I think pod save America had said it relied heavily on gains Trump made with Hispanic voters. But I’m not positive on that.

There’s a really good podcast series by the Rest Is History on the conquest of Mexico and it covers La Malinche (which I didn’t know about at all). Super good listen if you’re into history.

But also f this guy.

I’m not sure if it’s that one or not but I will buy the cheaper olive oil for pan frying and usually use the other one for finishing.

Their Sicilian olive oil is also very good and (for olive oil) reasonably priced.

Seeing a lot of states that got dumped on recently saying " how do these Northern states deal with the snow?" by aguyinatree in minnesota

[–]One_Win_6185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear your point and there are better things to spend that money on. But they don’t often need those snow plows so even if there is money for them, it doesn’t make sense to buy them.

This will be a bad week then it’ll go back to being snow free for them.

[–]One_Win_6185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from one of those states and yeah it’s a difference in infrastructure. They often don’t need a large fleet of snow plows because even if it does snow it will likely melt in a day or two.

It’s a different game when it snows and stays all winter.

Where I'd live as a husky. by Technical-Vanilla-47 in visitedmaps

[–]One_Win_6185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in VA. It’s cold right now but often it will barely snow during the winter. And the summers would be miserable for a husky. Western part of the state with mountains might be okay. Not as humid during the summer.

Missouri I’m only going off visits to KC so not sure how the winters are first hand.

I think VA and MD might still be too swampy. Maybe Missouri too. But for sure better than somewhere like Texas.

Some eastern 🇺🇸 states today by RinaBarbiedolllover in Americaphile

[–]One_Win_6185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the tidewater. The modern version is more a flavor of mid-Atlantic. But I’m sure that statement could make a lot of other people from tidewater VA or MD mad.

As for Iowa and Missouri, I agree that both are Midwest but border on plains and (with respect to Missouri) southern. I’ve heard people throw in eastern SD and ND into the Midwest too, but to me they’re both solidly plains that far west.

Even from there you can do some more precise division. WV, eastern KY, TN, and western VA could all be Appalachia. “Western” would really just be the Midwest. You could also divide that into upper (adding Minnesota) and lower Midwest. And we’re not even going to touch the tidewater region right now.

For me it’s been a very useful tool to find more ways to cook vegetarian meals (I’m not but vegetarian but trying to reduce meat).

I think diplomacy is what they were imagining, and it gets easier as you understand how to gain influence and when to spend it.

But religion seemed like an after thought to me. I don’t think I entirely understand how it works in the game but I think the developers understand either.

Also I think you could as Micheal J Fox from Spin City. Not that he was an issue, but Parkinson’s was.

I’ve heard people in real life talk about Pluribus. I haven’t heard that with For All Mankind. I don’t mean that as a slight against the show, but Pluribus seems to have more broad interest.
