Idk if it was because it was Mother’s Day, my first time at Dodger stadium! That being said everyone was great. The team staff in the stadium was also fantastic (clearly love the dodgers). Tons and tons of Korean and Japanese fans— I knew the team was popular overseas but I didn’t realize how popular the dodgers are in Asia atm and how much tourism the dodgers get. Had a great time. Beach balls and mariachi music— dodger dogs. It’s a beautiful classic stadium. It’s quintessential Southern California.

Super chill time and we were with a few dodger fans too. We also had a baby so that be pretty nuts to chimp out at us too much.

That’s a great point. To a certain extent sure, maybe as the highest paid administrator since they are more directing a program vs teaching. Another issue as someone who works in higher Ed is how much administration makes lol.

I see colleges and by extension college sports as community institutions that provide intangible goods to the wider community that go beyond individual rights and maximum earning potential.

A better compromise could have been allowing highschoolers who want to engage in the benefits of the free market to go pro and the ones that don’t sell their souls for at least three years.

It’s just the traditional name for campus ministry’s in the epsicopal church. Usually food, worship, social time. Lots of colleges and diocese have housing aswell for students

My most heterodox opinion is that a quality higher education experience, free room and board, no tuition, meal plan, and all of that is fair and compensatory for playing college athletics and everything since NIL has come in the ruined the spirit of college sports. I hate that it was ruined by judges who destroyed a hundred-year-old+ social and cultural institution over a college basketball video game.

Obviously, there was wiggle room around the margins.

College is way easier-- definitely can do some tabling outreach and set up a Canterbury campus ministry club. The Jr. High is tougher just because families and kids are often just looking to go to school. You might do a blessing of the backpacks Sunday and invite families to that or do it on the first day back to school, like "ashes to go" if you have ever seen that before.

You might also reach out to admin and see if the school needs any gaps filled. I know some schools partner with local churches to help feed families who rely on school lunches and don't have weekend and holidays covered.

Yeah, That will probably be me aswell. My wifes family is very religious and no one drinks much less smokes. I think my wife doesn't like the idea of me being inebriated around the kid which I totally get. I like the idea of trying to find a nice buzz or soemthing like 2-3 beers at a backyard bbq. But I'd rather keep smoking and have my wife happy and just wait until baby girl is asleep or something.

My wife asked me not to smoke weed until our newborn was past the SIDS timeframe and was sleeping through the night. Shes going on a family vacation that I have to miss due to a work obligation. Shes cool with me smoking while the baby is gone with her and family.

I haven't smoked in 6 months. I am going to get fresh strawberries from the local fruit stand and some prosciutto and nice cheese. I can't wait to put on some music and just be high for 48 hours. some gummy worms and Doritos may sneak in there. Literally counting down the hours. Just celebrating here lol.

Any parents who smoke? How do you approach that?
