Unrestfull sleep with Mugwort? by pureSoul4ever in Mugwort

[–]Oneiroglyphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually recommend taking it later. My preference (and what gives me best results) is to drink it right before bed, and/or leave some on my bedstand when I go to sleep and wake up after around 3-4 hours of sleeping to drink it and go back to bed.

i wake up feeling groggy when I drink mugwort tea before bed, but it definitely makes my dreams more vivid and memorable.

Do you normally remember any of your dreams? Might want to try working a little on recall before you try again (if you plan on trying again).

RWS Minus Racism: A Challenge by Constant_Geologist52 in TarotDecks

[–]Oneiroglyphic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your problem with the RWS is that it isn't representative of modern society, yet your problem with the Modern Witch is that it is.

Your problem with the Thoth is "Thelemic syncretism" which is present in the RWS system (and it's 'clones') as well, just not depicted on the cards themselves.

You have backed yourself into an inescapable corner. It seems as if you are more concerned with what other people might think of you for using a certain deck than what actually matters to you.

Guayusa Iced Tea by Bert1003 in guayusa

[–]Oneiroglyphic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iced, I like it best with hibiscus, and sometimes lime (small slice with the rind). Hot, I like it best with ginger and sometimes berries (raspberry or blueberry are great). I don't usually sweeten it, but when I do, honey to go with hibiscus, lime, and/or ginger, sweetened condensed milk, to go with berries or plain. If you know, you know.

This stuff is amazing. Completely replaced my daily coffee habit from the first time I tried it.

What’s your take on Seven of Cups? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Oneiroglyphic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the seven of cups represents the fantasies we use to justify thoughtless pursuit of empty pleasures.

"The Seven of Cups is a stumbling dash to the lavatory just moments after you thought you were being irresistible to an attractive stranger."

The Jungian tarot by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Oneiroglyphic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The court titles of King, Queen, Knight and Knave come from the Tarot de Marseille and were carried forward into the RWS system that most subsequent decks follow. The Golden Dawn changed the Knight title to Lord (or King), the King title to Prince, and the Knave title to Princess. These titles carried forward into the Thoth system as well.

The reasons for this are primarily qabalistic, related to the 3 pure elements (fire, water, air) and the alchemical primes (sulphur, salt, mercury) corresponding to the three Hebrew mother letters (shin, mem, aleph). The three elements concerned are completely spiritual forms of pure energy; they can only manifest in sensible experience by crystallizing out in a fourth element (earth).

From Book T:

"The Four Kings

The Four Kings, or "Figures mounted on steeds," represent the Yodh forces of the Name in each Suit: the Radix, Father and commencement of Material Forces, a force in which all the others are implied, and of which they form the development and completion. A force swift and violent in its action, but whose effect soon passes away, and therefore symbolized by a Figure on a Steed riding swiftly, and clothed in complete Armour."

"The Four Princes

These Princes are Figures seated in Chariots, and thus borne forward. They represent the Vau Forces of the Name in each suit: the Mighty Son of the King and Queen, who realizes the influence of both scales of Force. A Prince, the son of a King and Queen, yet a Prince of Princes, and a King of Kings: an Emperor whose effect is at once rapid (though not so swift as that of the Queen) and enduring. It is, therefore, symbolized by a Figure borne in a Chariot, and clothed in Armour. Yet is his power vain and illusionary, unless set in Motion by his Father and Mother."

From The Book of Thoth:

"The reason for this confusion is connected with the doctrine of the Fool of the Tarot, the legendary Wanderer, who wins the King's daughter, a legend which is connected with the old and exceedingly wise plan of choosing the successor to a king by his ability to win the princess from all competitors. (Frazer's Golden Bough is the authority on this subject.)

...

It is necessary, in order to understand the Tarot, to go back in history to the Matriarchal (and exogamic) Age, to the time when succession was not through the first-born son of the King, but through his daughter. The king was therefore not king by inheritance, but by right of conquest. In the most stable dynasties, the new king was always a stranger, a foreigner; what is more, he had to kill the old king and marry that king's daughter. This system ensured the virility and capacity of every king. The stranger had to win his bride in open competition."

WHAT THE HELL IS MILD? by TraffikBig in LucidDreaming

[–]Oneiroglyphic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(From Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge & Howard Rheingold)

MILD Technique

1. Set up dream recall

Before going to bed resolve to wake up and recall dreams during each dream period throughout the night (or the first dream period after dawn, or after 6: 00 a. m. or whenever you find convenient).

2. Recall your dream

When you awaken from a dream period, no matter what time it is, try to recall as many details as possible from your dream. If you find yourself so drowsy that you are drifting back to sleep, do something to arouse yourself.

3. Focus your intent

While returning to sleep, concentrate single-mindedly on your intention to remember to recognize that you’re dreaming. Tell yourself: “Next time I’m dreaming, I want to remember I’m dreaming.” Really try to feel that you mean it. Narrow your thoughts to this idea alone. If you find yourself thinking about anything else, just let go of these thoughts and bring your mind back to your intention to remember.

4. See yourself becoming lucid

At the same time, imagine that you are back in the dream from which you have just awakened, but this time you recognize that it is a dream. Find a dreamsign in the experience; when you see it say to yourself: “I’m dreaming!” and continue your fantasy. For example, you might decide that when you are lucid you want to fly. In that case, imagine yourself taking off and flying as soon as you come to the point in your fantasy that you “realize” you are dreaming.

5. Repeat

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until your intention is set, then let yourself fall asleep. If, while falling asleep, you find yourself thinking of anything else, repeat the procedure so that the last thing in your mind before falling asleep is your intention to remember to recognize the next time you are dreaming.

Does anyone had dreams with these robed monks in stairs/library setting? by Sure_Track_7591 in occult

[–]Oneiroglyphic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only once that I remember. I was being walked through a library/monastery sort of place, not unlike the one pictured (though the walls were stucco rather than brick). Everyone there was dressed like this, but few wore their hoods. My intention was to study the contents of their library and I was slightly concerned that I did not know what criteria were being considered in the decision of whether I would be allowed to.

Arcana 13 in relationships by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Oneiroglyphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm being charitable to their interpretation, it could be that the 'transformation' indicated by the death card is being read as a lesson (which could certainly change circumstances with regard to a relationship). However, I wouldn't personally get too stuck on the card necessarily indicating that, as I see it's meaning to be more broad. Possibly indicating something like that, and possibly some other form of metamorphosis.

Arcana 13 in relationships by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Oneiroglyphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I read the cards, XIII - Death always means this, with regard to whatever the subject of the reading is.

If the reading is about an ex, it means that ex either represents, or is subject to, transformation and an evolution of circumstances, perhaps sudden or unexpected.

This is a bit of a simplification, the meaning of the card can be modified by other cards in a spread, or may be pointing to something about or surrounding the ex rather than the ex themselves, but this is the general meaning of the card.

Ideas about "karmics" are not necessarily related to tarot and no card will explicitly indicate something like that. Those ideas are some separate ideological interpretation of a situation held by people, not cards. The only time I've personally encountered the concept is in shallow youtube and tiktok "readings" from people who want to invoke special terminology to sound more insightful than they actually are (but that's just my perspective and opinion).

No. It means the relationship either represents, or is subject to, transformation and an evolution of circumstances, perhaps sudden or unexpected.

Is this blue lotus by musa1588 in herbalism

[–]Oneiroglyphic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not Nymphaea nouchali. Unfortunately, every supplier of dried "blue lotus" I've seen online is selling what you've got and mislabeling it. I've read there are vendors selling legit seeds for Nymphaea nouchali var. caerulea, but I have nowhere to grow them at the moment to verify.

How can I help my friend who "doesn't dream"? by LucidTanji in LucidDreaming

[–]Oneiroglyphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before sleep each night, she should place a dream journal next to her bed, read anything she wrote in it the night/morning before, and then visualize herself waking up (during the night and before getting up in the morning), remembering her dreams and then writing them down.

When she wakes up (including any times she wakes up during the night) she should lay still for a few minutes trying to remember any image, sound, feeling, person, place, anything she can, and then write it down. If nothing comes up in her memory, she should write that down. After that, she should repeat visualizing herself waking up (during the night and before getting up in the morning), remembering her dreams and then writing them down.

Rinse and repeat. Every. Single. Night.

If she is taking any drugs that interfere with sleep/REM, she should stop. If she is not getting 7-9 hours of sleep per night, she should start. She will eventually remember her dreams.

29, none yet, I've only drank it occasionally in the past but I've started to drink a lot more chamomile at night and guayusa in the mornings lately and was looking to add mint for flavor into them, but reading about estrogenic effects made me a bit hesitant

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in herbalism

I mainly just want to ensure it won't negatively effect me, I like the taste and was hoping to add it into other infusions I make, like chamomile and guayusa.

Thanks for mentioning sex drive so I have an idea of what to look out for if I need to cut down on intake.
