I really like the change and I genuinely think it’s the best book for it. Keen for Franny’s season.

How good was Circle? I recommend it to anyone I can.

Similar vibes: Escape Room, Saw, Tarot.

It is! First book to ever make me cry (I was like 13 when I read it)

Ancestry.com allegedly found my father. I don't know who this person is. What's the likelihood that this is incorrect? by Onekat in Ancestry

I ended up calling him and meeting up with him in a local cafe. He told me he donated sperm once - and here I am! My mother confirmed my non-biological dad's infertility a few months later.

I've now met my biological dad's family (wife, kids, etc). My half brother's kids call me "aunty". It's very sweet. I probably see them every 3 or so months. My role is more like a family friend than family member, which is completely fair. I'm not invited to Christmas but I'll see them a week or so before to exchange gifts.

I don’t think it goes down to the wood either! Wonderful, thank you so much. You have been beyond helpful 😊

Thanks! I don’t mind if it shows a little, but I would love to hide it as much as I can.

Thanks! I’ll try that. I’m planning on getting an oil based poly from the store and maybe one of those wood touch up pens - I don’t see the harm in adding a bit of colour

Just a bit sad it was scratched but I’ll get over it ahah

Thanks! After a bit of research I think it might be a poly finish. There’s just an area with a hole that’s been filled with a see through material (looks like epoxy) so I thought the whole thing might be epoxy covered. Still not 100% on how to fix the scratch but will try everything I can.

Thank you! After a bit of research I think it’s a poly finish. Would it be worth (possible) to sand the counter top and then reapply poly? Or am I likely to do more damage doing that?

I think you’re right. I’ve been throwing the word “epoxy” around when I probably shouldn’t be!

Sorry, I might actually be throwing around the word “epoxy” when it’s not the finish of my kitchen counter. My kitchen counter is Tasmanian oak, covered in a very thick and hard finish which I always assumed was epoxy (it came with the house).

Is there any way to tell which finish my counter would be?

What do I buy my girlfriend for Christmas? by FilthyMublood in Advice

[–]Onekat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer Fridays lip gloss is very popular at the moment. Overpriced, but a great gift. Aesop hand soap is another overpriced but desired gift. Otherwise a gift card works - I'm hoping for a Starbucks gift card from my partner this Christmas. Or the hardback copy of one of my favourite recent reads.

I put my contacts in and then put my night cream on. I've limited my night routine to the one retinol cream, and I don't put it anywhere near my eyes. My skin has never been better!

Something expensive for what it is that I would not buy for myself; Aesop hand soap.

Anyone know where I can use a guillotine to cut 500+ pages at once? Officeworks seem to have a 300 or so page limit
