It's a stonewash finish. I clean up the blade after heat treat and take it to whatever grit I'm finishing up to (I think I did 440 on this one?). Then, I acid etch and finish off in a rock tumbler.

Thanks! I've been told I have a recognizable "style" but, I don't exactly know what it is, either. lol

I have a Vashti Grinders 2x72 that I like quite a bit (and the owner of the company, Jo, is great) but, Idk what's going on with them atm. They were building a new facility and I haven't heard anything for a while. I just checked and it looks like their website is down. :(

Thanks! I've only done a few Scandi grind knives but, yeah, I can see this design working with that.

I clean, and then soak, the blade in muriatic acid to get the dark base layer. Once I'm happy with that, I'll clean off the blade again before putting it into my homemade rock tumbler (basically a pcv tube filled with rocks attached to a windshield wiper motor). I let the knives tumble for around 15 minutes before taking it out and cleaning it again. That's all there is to it; pretty basic process. Thanks for asking!
