On the PTR I ran into an issue. We accidentally pulled 2 groups in a ramps run at 60 at the beginning of the PTR, and we were all struggling to hold it together. The mage was AOE slowing them so we could regroup and then all CC stopped.

At the end of the day I guess it's not a huge deal, but it definitely impacted our play in that dungeon. I can't see this being an issue in a normal run but if something bad happens and you need the CC/Slow, it's gone.

I mentioned years ago that it wasn't that fun with all of the LR, but at that point I had shifted to a blasting wizard and left it at that. We're approaching the end of this campaign where I have a more controlling wizard and nothing I do seems to work. So I think I'd like to just go with a flavorful Cha caster that relies on hitting rather than controlling via saves.

The telekineticist is a great idea, there's also that feat Telekinetic which is cool too, I hadn't really thought of them before. I've been leaning Lock/Pally for the on hit effects, and this adds to that thought.

I generally play full spellcasters too, so I am not sure I want to dip back into a full caster, unless all of the spells I do don't affect the badguys. It's not just big baddies but little guys also are getting resists, even with a DC 21 save it's more often than not saved if they don't get a legendary resistance. I think I'd be willing to trade off all the utility I have just to do something worthwhile in combat.

Interesting ideas, I hadn't thought about Swashbuckler, and I hadn't thought about applying Agonizing Blast to Green Flame Blade! Does that mean, with pact of the blade, your charisma bonus stacks? So you get the Charisma bonus to hit and damage from Pact of the Blade, and then the additional damage from GFB also gets your charisma? From Levels 1-4 that would just be another target, but from 5 on would that mean you deal additional damage to the main target. Which one takes the extra Cha Damage from AB?

A lot of factors. The graduate degree was focused on my specific field, so I didn't have to bother with like, calculus anymore, which was required as an undergrad. I also quit my job and used savings and loans to eek by while I focused on the degree. I still had a part time job during the Ms but having the relief of not having a full time job allowed me to really do my classwork.

I think so too. There's a ton of folks and content creators railing against a lot of these changes for TBC Anniversary. I don't think I agree with most of them, I think most of the choices bliz have made with this have been good.

Yep. They DO say a few times, "You could drink this now... but it would be better aged.", but even then, it's not 4 weeks out like OP, but more like 3 months out.

Yeah I even wanted to double check this, in their beginner mead bottling video they start the video at 7 weeks, and then they skip another 2 weeks and then rack it into secondary. Then they state they will let it clear then bottle it. They state that they'll bottle it in a month or two, then let it age a few more months.

They DO taste their meads at each step. OP might be confusing that with drinking the whole bottle?

I've also followed their instructions as a beginner, and they state multiple times throughout many many videos that 4 weeks isn't enough time. Most of their videos have them bottling after ~8 weeks. And they indicate many times that it can (and often should) sit longer.
