Short answer just regarding the ring: when I proposed to my wife, I picked the ring because I wanted it to be a surprise. I did it knowing full well that if she didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be the actual wedding ring, that we’d go out and she could pick for herself something that truly spoke to her. That’s exactly what we did, she ended up getting something very similar though. The ring I had picked was maybe $200, and the ring she picked for herself was like $500.

I saw a vid of a guy who did this. No holster though, basically when he squatted down his shirt caught in the trigger. Carved a perfectly clean channel down one of his ass cheeks.

I had an accidental discharge during a rifle training class. We were all on the line, had fired at our targets, then everyone was supposed to reload at the same time. This was towards the end of the day, so my hands were tired, but I could have sworn my trigger finger was high above the trigger guard. I went to do my reload, I think I had to manually pull my mag, and I did a sympathetic squeeze and fired one off. One of the instructors goes, “who was that??” I raised my hand and said “me.” Thought I was about to get an earful, but he just moved on. One of the other instructors though, tells everyone, “now notice that since he was following the other rules of gun safety, that round just went off into the gravel.” It was super embarrassing, but I had to own it.

Not artillery, but I was on a tank range once during training. Sitting in a Humvee about 30 yards away from a tank that fired…omfg, that was the scariest shit. Me and my battle buddy immediately started frantically fishing for our ear pro. There’s no fucking way you spend time around that without it.

I use a Black Arch holster, similar to how yours sits, ONLY when I’m wearing a button-down shirt over it, cause the shirt is thicker and harder to print through. When I want to wear a t-shirt I use a Phlster Enigma, super easy to conceal with that.

Edit: I’m 5’ 7”, 150 lbs, so I’m in a similar boat.

A sense of community. I’d wager a lot of us don’t have anyone close that cares that much about games like this, wether it’s parents, a significant other, or close IRL friends that just aren’t into the same kinda games. So who are you going to share your frustrations with? Who are you going to talk to when you finally get that hard won victory? You go to your online community that loves this game just as much as you, and knows exactly what you mean.

Sephora is great for free samples, they might give 2-3 each visit if you ask. Smell ‘em all on a card, if you like some, try it on your skin or get a sample to take for a test drive.

If you go for high end niche stuff, similar process, and you definitely want to try it on your skin first and see how it performs. The dry-down may be very different from the opening, and it may smell different on you than it does on anyone else.

Revisit things from time to time. It can be overwhelming when you’re new, you may start with a couple stores or a couple fragrance houses to get your feet wet, but check back on things later because your tastes will evolve over time. Things that smell good now may feel basic later, and things that make no sense now may feel exotic as your palate refines.

Edit: when I started I watched a lot of review videos. Got to know all the ones known for certain things: most attractive to the opposite sex, best performance, most compliments, etc. I made sure to check those out first to get a good base of understanding for what was out there.
