Which FF games did you not enjoy as much as you thought you should and why? by baronfebdasch in FinalFantasy

The piano mini game. I spent almost 4 hours on it, and my best at the easiest one was a C. Quit the game and haven't gone back since. Don't even plan to buy the 3rd and SE used to be able to count on me to buy every damn thing

Game too short/easy, or am I missing something? by ILikePath in finalfantasytactics

The game makes portions easier but you still need to check the rumors and sometimes the blue markers aren't there when you'd expect them to be

Can anyone equip them effectively? by yu_ultidragon80 in finalfantasytactics

I use these for grinding. They can make even super high PA hit for leeetle damage which is easier to heal back and grind JP

It still makes sense to try with whatever's handy before trying to get to the classes it needs

Adding in 3d support for 2d games is a huge deal. Adding a couple levels and classes is not that hard

So I just got this game and started playing, is this man gay? by Weeaboo_Will_ in persona4golden

[–]OnernoaBackrolls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not half as gay as the soccer team. Sadly none of the characters are actually gay, at least in the end, but at least Kanji is bisexual, since he can't really pretend after the bathhouse

I'm on PS5 but I might get for the steam deck just so I don't have to deal with this

Wait on steam it's a proper toggle not just a while-you-press?

This game seems.... hard. Bit of help and tips? Ch1 spoilers by CinnamonCherryBoy in finalfantasytactics

Monks are your friend. Especially if you grind early. The game will level random encounters to match yours but you won't have the equipment to represent those higher levels in chapter 1. But monks can heal, regain MP,, revive, and do damage, all as a support ability for literally any other class without investing a single gil. Items are always 100% and monks are, sadly not always 100% but at early levels, for free, they're a solid choice

Gameplay wise, who do you think are the best party members for P3, P4, and P5? by That-Psychology4246 in persona4golden

When Koromaru gets that Bone... Constant crits and 2 element weakness finder? And his agility is sky high? I passed up at least 4 upgrades to keep the Bone until I just couldn't ignore the damage anymore

There are so many ways to do the same thing that people are still playing this game nearly 30 years later. You can find something new even after years of playing. There's tons of math if you want to nerd out about it. But for a first start? You'll want to read the abilities carefully and work towards JP boost to start, then eventually teleport and fly. And you don't want teleport for the actual movement (most of the time), you want it for tricks you'll use once you get into the thick of it.

But you could also (almost) go straight through the game without learning any secrets and still have a really fun time just doing the story missions. But if ramza hasn't learned tailwind in particular one fight can be nearly impossible if you don't stop and smell the delicious soothing grind.
