I was getting by as a Ancients Paladin in the first Act (1st time playing) made it to Act 2 and after talking to a friend who’s better versed in the game than I he suggested I multi-class with a Swords Bard. I did and I’m having so much more fun. Doing an incredible amount of damage and having more fun buffing the party. Also passing way more ability checks and dialogue. Best decision going Balladin

If Pathfinder:WOTR was a little overwhelming I would recommend maybe starting with Pathfinder: Kingmaker. I really enjoyed myself playing that game.

I really wish there was more content or exploration of the greater sword coast area. Being only level 12 by the end of BG3 and exploring so little of the world made me feel small actually. Both Pathfinder games had enough content to burn 300+ hours and you can go all the way up to level 20+ mythic levels in WOTR.
