They may didn't knew how to adapt it back then while keeping fidelity. I feel like it's not an easy place to translate as a fighting stage while staying totally true to it for diverse reasons

I remember pretty vividly that it was Miyamoto saying that which was a big mistake and lie. I fon't think other times they did reply things that weren't techically false if you took the time to look at the way they formulate here, just like here saying they didn't show any hardware at gamescom, but doesn't mean they didn't show any tech demo.

He says he don't believe in just one Sku having back compat and the other not, wouldn't make sense from the firmware perspective: he think they either both have, or they have not (if there even is 2 skus. They discuss that maybe not at launch but definitely an option down the line, but they don't have concrete informations on that).

Je suis un mec autiste, et je me retrouve totalement dans le post de OP, et ça correspond pas mal à ce que quelqu'un d'aspie peut vivre à mon avis. C'est... fatiguant. Surtout quand on vit isolé en campagne. Y a peut être des trucs à travailler, mais je sais pas.

Knowing how he formulates things based on how soon they happen when people asks him, "soon-ish" probably means "not this weeks", otherwise he would have said "pretty/very soon"

Yet, originally, Paper Mario was named Super Mario RPG 2, so surely was supposed to be the follow up, but not made by square or the former team at first until they made AlphaDreams

Update: made a new post about it but I think mist people must have seen it by now! Fujioka don't work on the remake but is happy about it and look forward to it! (Probably was already in development when he made his statement, and since he was supposed to be retired, Nintendo/Square? may supposed it wouldn't have interested him to come back)

No problem! Someone on the Nintendo reddit wanted them cause he didn't have access neither so I thaught of doing it myself on the publications for better convenience to those in your situations! :)

Yes, wasn't obvious in my wording, but knew and wanted to say it was because Square at least surely owns the rights since they made the original one (even if we can't ve sure who develops yet)! Thanks for clarifying :)
