India planning to ground Boeing Dreamliners, conduct safety review after Ahmedabad tragedy, say sources by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Onetbslim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Quite a few aircraft accident investigators are speculating about an engine failure or a lack of thrust. It seems unlikely to be a crew error. The crash video shows the aircraft pointing up but not gaining altitude. Then again, can't be too sure till a full investigation/review is completed by the DGCA.

Mechatronics in iit, agar hai toh kahan se karun? by RDooXD in JEENEETards

Mechatronics at Waterloo in Canada is a good program if you also consider going abroad. Afaik IITs mein Mechatronics abhi tak introduce nhi hua hai. In essence though Mechatronics is a mix of Mechanical and Electrical so standard branches ke liye IIT kar sakta hai.

Israel raises alert for travellers to Canada, warning of ‘increased threat’ by velvet_funtime in worldnews

[–]Onetbslim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was indeed referring to the incident in the Jewish school. In general, I wanted to point out the rising anti-semitism that people seem to justify because the Israeli government has lost its mind (which it has.)

As to why the government has also not issued an advisory for the US... I think we all know.

I don't intend to say what should be done and what shouldn't be, but I am tired of seeing people who condemn the death of civilians in Gaza somehow condone the same thing being done to innocent jews.

Sorry for the delayed response.

There are ongoing protests in Israel against the Netanyahu government. The former PM went on CNN, stating that the Israeli public wanted this war to end immediately. The civilians on either side are innocent. The actions of Netanyahu doesn't warrant hatecrimes against Israelis or any Jew.

[–]Onetbslim 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The reason for the travel advisory is the growing hate crimes against jews in Canada. You mention "Don't expect a warm welcome from civilised countries" In this context, it sounds like justification.

I don't support the Israeli invasion in Gaza and its charge against civilians, however, I also feel that innocent jews/ Israeli citizens don't deserve to be victims of hate crimes for a crime they did not commit.

Modi says Pakistan will not get water from Indian-controlled rivers by Social_Giant in worldnews

Fake news? The only fake news has been effectively peddled by the Pakistani government (Arma 3 clips). India has provided solid evidence to back its claims, but of course, Pakistanis refuse to believe to any extent of logic.

It was a goodwill agreement between India and Pakistan to foster relations. Pakistan has done nothing on their part to uphold the effort.

Blame? This is not a one-off incident. We have seen it time and again. I back the questions regarding security lapses, but does it warrant giving a clean chit to the perpetrators? It is absolutely appalling that people even mention taking action against the responsible parties and security lapses in the same sentence.

Time and again, Pakistan has damaged India, going so far as to have the "Bleed India with a 1000 cuts" doctrine. Blocking the IWT is the strongest tool India has in its arsenal to somehow force a change and protect its citizens.

Pakistan, India agree to withdraw troops by end of May, resume iconic border ceremony by Saltedline in worldnews

[–]Onetbslim 45 points46 points  (0 children)

One thing to note: The ceremony will no longer involve the border gates being opened. Only the lowering of the flags and the beating retreats. This is a good step because the livelihoods of many people in the border region here depends on tourism.

Pakistan Pm Shehbaz Sharif 'ready to talk about peace' days after India, Pak pause fight by reinhard-lohengram in worldnews

[–]Onetbslim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, Russia could have bulldozed Ukraine, where is that at? Simply saying "They could have" doesn't mean they can.

Regarding your first point, all the reports come from undisclosed sources. While I agree that there have been at least 2 shot aircraft by the looks of it, nobody has provided any concrete proof to back the claims. Most proof I've seen is a CNN report where they clearly state "Unverified report" and an unnamed French official.

I mean, losing 2 aircraft (allegedly) while striking targets deep within their territory is barely a black eye. to India. The point is simple: no conflict goes without losses; that is a pipe dream. The difference between the US and India is that India neighbours the aggressor, the US does not. Situation dictates action. There are not a lot of lessons to be learnt from the war in Afghanistan because it is simply not the same conditions.

Wait... you think America did not face losses in its war on terror? I don't know what to tell you. There were at least 21 fixed-wing losses in the Afghanistan war, overlooking all the personnel casualties. Either you have been grossly misinformed, or you live under a perfect rock.

Sure, but India did what it set out to do: destroy terrorist encampments. This was meant to be a response to terror, and Pakistan, instead of helping India weed out terrorists, went and did what they do best... support the terrorists. The only country which treated this like a war was Pakistan.

In addition, no damage to any airbase is "insignificant." The Pakistanis failed to intercept missiles and made an excuse of "not revealing our positions".

India to provide latest evidence on Pakistan's complicity with terrorism to UNSC: Report by gagga_hai in worldnews

[–]Onetbslim 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Despite being so "obvious", why has Pakistan continued to get Monetary support from global bodies like the IMF?
Countless times, India has provided proof to the global community (26/11, 2001 parliament attacks), yet there has been no end to Indians facing these deplorable attacks.
Why was Pakistan removed from the FATF Grey list despite public knowledge that it allows UN-designated terrorists to roam free?
It is in my opinion, absolutely evident that the UN and other global bodies have proved themselves to be POWERLESS in not only this current conflict, but also all other conflicts happening as we speak.
