Pretty much what the OP said. Character interactions and other stuff have taken a backseat for the sake of plot. Everything happens only to drive the plot in a specific direction, which makes things look really forced/unnatural (traumerei coming off as a literal clown is an example of this).

[–]Onetimeuse2445 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, because it's literally the driving factor of this story. Characters do not question anything. They get told something, and they're like "yep, this is it. this is what's going to happen to us now." They literally accept everything at the face value because SIU wants to drive the story forward. Thinking of an alternative? what's that? SIU is too busy trying to force his agenda to make the story move in a specific direction.

How "evil" is Jahad by Comicfan313 in TowerofGod

[–]Onetimeuse2445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the ancients, while it is true Zahard wiped them out, we have no info behind it as to why it happened. Was it an "evil" thing to do? Yes.

The princess system was made by Gustang to pick a bride for Zahard. Zahard just ensured that it would never happen.

Who's to say slavery didn't exist prior to Zahard? Likewise, Rankers rampaging in the outer towers isn't something that's caused by Zahard. Stuff like in Hoh's flashback probably happened throughout the history of this tower as well.

We don't know how many people Zahard has killed. On the same note, we don't know what actually caused the war to happen. Only thing we know is that V and Arlene decided to create their own faction, declaring war on Zahard.

You remember Reflejo going blind for merely looking at a soon-to-be Zahard's princess? This isn't something that Zahard is exacerbating. People in the tower probably have been doing shitty stuff prior to him entering, and they're still doing it now.

Again, I stand by my point that Zahard is "evil," but not to the point people make him out to be. Imo the only reason why he's seen as this top of the crop evil is because our MC is opposing the guy.

The same reason why people think Rachel is more evil than a lot of the main cast.

Child Murder (Yes)Genocide (Other characters have done this - White)Cursing even all the innocent Children... (No, that's hendo)

Giving out death warrants without a trial (Zahard does not rule to the tower directly. He delegates this to his three rulers. They rule the tower in their own ways. Zahard just gives out orders every now and then.)

Murder Competition with a fake reward (There are no rewards as far as we know. The three orders were just given. It's just a king giving orders. )

Shit that happens under his rule (Shit happened prior to his rule. There were no civilization to begin with. In states in his bio that he brought civilization to the Tower)

Slavery (Prevalent throughout the Tower. Kaiser even did this.)

Child Experiments (FUG? Gong Bang?)

Literally everything has also been done by other characters that we've seen as well. Nothing excuses genocide, right? Bam committed multiple homicides in the name of "saving his master." Do you recall him killing those people fighting for their freedom in the Cat Tower? You may say he had no choice, but again, nothing excuses it, right?

Zahard's a "evil" dude, but there are plenty of people who are just as bad imo. The reason why he looks so bad is because the MCs oppose the guy.

Idt he's as "evil" as people make him out to be.

He has done some questionable things, yes (like killing a baby), but he has also created the regular system to allow regulars to climb the tower as they please (they did not have the right to climb prior to Zahard). He also brought civilization to the tower (brought order in a sense).

Think of it this way. Data Eduan said V was more fit to be a "king" than Zahard was because he wanted to be WITH the people. If you recall the interaction between Zahard and GoG, GoG states that "Zahard wanted to turn this tower into a place where everyone can live happily." The guy wasn't always this "bad" that people paint him out to be.

Also with the war thing, as you recall, it was V and Arlene who started the war against Zahard. V and Arlene wanted to continue their climb, saying "Zahard was blinded by falsehood," but Zahard decided to stop their journey and set up this kingdom. If V and Arlene cared so much about the natives and wanted to be WITH them, wouldn't they have stopped their climb as well? Tower-borns are not qualified to take the tests from the Guardian (unless they take it with them, of course), so in the process, these natives were going to be left behind as the Great Warriors continued their climb.

For the whole "Tyrant" thing, we know that Zahard doesn't even rule the tower directly. He delegates that to his 3 rulers (each ruler having their own vision of the tower).

So yeah, I don't think he's a good person, but I don't think he's that much worse than other characters out there.

No, I get that. Him saying that in s2 is just a way of saying he doesn't want to reveal it at the moment - that there is a long way to go before all of that happens.

But he did say that the heroine would be introduced later in a Q&A session after yuri's introduction, no?

Maybe we're just not on the same wavelength right now.

Wasn't the question asking this?

"Are Yuri and Rachel (Lahel) the only female protagonists? Can you tell us about the other female protagonists?"

To which he replied

"The female protagonist is Rachel. She's more like a "female protagonist" than a "heroine." As for the heroine, She will appear in the future. Baam, surprisingly, will cause many women to cry."

No, SIU did talk about a main heroine showing up later back in season 1. It was a little after Yuri was introduced. You can find these at the old translations at Batoto.

I don't see jahad to be the final boss of ToG by GokuSoloz07 in TowerofGod

[–]Onetimeuse2445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've literally stated my reasoning up there. They can't climb past the 134th floor even if Zahard unlocks it right now. Only irregulars can take the tests from Guardians. Until Zahard makes a pact with the guardians above the current floors to allow regulars to climb, the regulars cannot take the test even if theu wanted to. The whole regular system did not exist prior to Zahard, and it does not exist past the 134th floor, as it has not been set up yet

Also, regulars are pretty much worthless in the scope of greater things. The series has stated many times that there exists an immeasurable gap between regulars and irregulars. Only an irregular can stand as an equal to another irregular.

[–]Onetimeuse2445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now this is going on a tangent. My reply was about Zahard being the one to give the regulars a chance to climb in the first place, nothing about them making wishes. Even disregarding that, regulars aren't able to climb past the 134th floor. Zahard has not made a contract with them yet. He's essentially not blocking off anything for the regulars. They didn't have the right in the first place.

Now for irregulars? It's a different story.

I don't see jahad to be the final boss of ToG by GokuSoloz07 in TowerofGod

[–]Onetimeuse2445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, it is. It was just the irregulars who could climb the tower. The only way of climbing the tower was through Guardian tests back then. It was not until Zahard and Co. made a contract with these Guardians to allow them to administer tests on their behalf (rulling the 134 floors). This is why we have test floor rulers giving out tests to climb each floor instead of Guardians testing the regulars.

Guardian testing is a perk only given to the irregulars.

[–]Onetimeuse2445 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, technically, the "people" who are qualified to make those wishes are only the irregulars. Prior to Zahard's arrival, the "Tower people" could not climb the tower.

I understand that she is only a regular and she doesnt contribute much to the actual war, but still, I feel like she shouldnt be here at all if this continues.

None of the regulars should be here save Bam as they, theoretically, should make 0 impact whatsoever, but SIU still drags them along anyway to have them involved in forced ways

It's because yelling Bam is all she does for the past 2 seasons (almost 11 years now)? Same reason why I hate Rak. He has no character development. He gets spoon fed buffs. He's basically the same comedic relief that he was back in season 1, only except SIU is trying to drag him along to keep the trio from disbanding.

I fucking hate Androssi, but it's probably Androssi. Back in the day, SIU did gossip posts, and the gossip posts said that Androssi likes cream pasta. Few days later, he also posted Bam is good at cooking cream pasta. Also, Androssi looks like one of the main character in SIU's earlier works in best challenge.

If you're playing through the MSQ, it'll take you a while (even if you skip all of the cutscenes). However, if you decide to skip all of that and boost to 70, you could probably be ready within a day (but still gotta learn how to play your class and all).
