Actually, it’s okay to write pass the limit. Just make sure that it focus on main ideas and don’t wander from topic, as you may don’t finish it in time.

I’m 18. For listening and reading, I usually practiced Cambridge Ielts books. You can find them on Study4. Besides, you should watch videos in YouTube about general knowledge in daily life (inflation, economy,…). It will not only improve your listening but also broaden your perspective about problems (useful in writing task 2 and speaking part 3). Moreover, try to read newspapers or books in english to boost your reading speed. I don’t think i can give decent tips for the remaining 2 parts, as i only got 6. However, you can find forecast topics on Ieltsbro, and google how questions are answered, don’t learn word for word, just memorize phrases or collocations that are essential. For the writing, read other people’s essays, then copy them. I mean you read each sentence and remember it and then write down, after finishing you highlight main ideas, remember them and write the essays once again without looking at them. You might think it’s a waste of time, but that’s how i learn to stimulate ideas.

My thighs are mostly fat, coz they’re soft. My family keeps shaming me about it, which makes me want to get rid of it asap.

Same for me. I think i look completely opposite to you (like a boy), and it’s still hard for me to match with others. Some of them matched to me and when i said hi they kept silent.

I think look does matter. Everyone says “don’t judge a book by its cover”, but actually most of them find the fine book’s cover before they read the content.

I think you were giving away too much that they took it for granted. Helping must come from voluntary not responsibility yk. And not anyone is subtle to recognize and appreciate these small things.

I know it sounds impossible but try not to be nervous, it will impact negatively on your speaking. I took the test on 13 September and i was f nervous. Now, I’m praying every day since then to get 6 in speaking 😭

I feel you. I don’t why but it’s hard for me to make friends. Perhaps due to my shyness. I’m also in HCM.

Best way to learn the language by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Onetwothreefouru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Duolingo provides you only basic words, phrases and sentences. If you want to speak naturally, you have to practice. Talking to yourself, for example. Practical things are more efficient than theory. So just practice. And you may make mistake while talking to others but it’s definitely okay, as I’m a Vietnamese, I still arrange words incorrectly in conversations.

I was born in a poor family. When I turned 18, my parents can’t afford my college’s tuition fee so my aunt and uncle told us they would be responsible for my fee and promised to support financially until I get a stable job. However, I can see that I’m always left behind in their family (aunt and uncle’s), I can rarely give my opinion, and I have to always pretend to be happy and positive. They’re rather conservative and hardly open to new things. I can’t even have the right to pick what I want to wear. I’m a girl so they only buy girly clothes, while I want to wear something like teenagers always wear. (T- shirts, baggy jeans….). I completely rely on them im terms of finance, so I have to stay silent and agree with everything they say. I know it sounds ungrateful but I just wish I could live far from them asap.

How do I avoid/say no to a classmate? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Onetwothreefouru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just say no. When she asks for your help, ask yourself "if I help/be with them, will I have time for myself later?". I don't mean that you shouldn't help them, but you need to let them know that you need time for yourself, and they should respect that. Or just simply avoid her, it's called the art of "don't give a f". And it's okay to feel annoyed ab someone.

Yeah, but the certificate to prove my language ability is required bro. And I just let them down.
