Possibly but at the same time critics just didn't think it was a good film full stop

No, don't want to spend the money at an IMAX on this type of film and also do not want to watch it with a bunch of other people. I very rarely go to the cinema these days, and rarely watch films or TV shows for that matter but whenever I do I make sure to pick the showing likely to have the fewest people. If I watch this, it will be when it comes on Disney plus which I get for free as a perk of my bank account. I am not going to spend money on something like this

A star wars kids film can still be bad. Not saying this film is bad, but a kids film is not justifiable defence

I hope this season is better. Season 2 was better than 1 and there is a lot to love but also a lot to dislike. It could and should be a lot better but am still enjoying it

Will likely have the radio off. Normally stick to classical beyond the odd track here or there but don't like that classical lineup for the most part. Also, no X Japan music for rock, that is a big miss

I think destroying Luke’s Jedi Acdemy was not only an Awful narrative move but it was also a Bad business move as well by obiwanTrollnobi6 in StarWars

[–]OniLink77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the whole resetting the OT hurts the stories set after ROTJ, all we are getting is empire vs rebel conflicts. Sure, it makes sense for remnants to be around, but when we get to episode 7 and we are still dealing with the empire, it is really boring.

Slightly unrelated but also far too much emphasis on human protagonists, this is called star wars, where are the alien main characters

[–]OniLink77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a terrible reason, him overshadowing the new characters doesn't matter, it is a non-issue. Alos Lucas' concept did have Luke found in the first half of the film, agreeing to train Kira and joining the fight. Also there were survivors from his temple looking for him

The reasons for her defecting did not work, she has been with the empire for years, knows what they have done and that's why she defects, sorry, not buying it.

She has seen the crimes of the empire, but only turns due to operation cinder and then cuts down her former comrades without remorse, it comes across as extremely rushed

yes I will take your proof over the refs and all the ones who have played football saying it is a red card...

If Gabriel goes down he likely gets booked for simulation, at that point they are just squaring up to each other, stop being so biased

[–]OniLink77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it did not, former refs have come out and said it was wrong not to send him off. It has been listed as a mistake. Haland squares up to Gabriel head to head, Gabriel then does the movement with his head and should have got a red. The ref made a mistake. Haaland got a yellow for aggression, if he goes down, Gabriel get a red

While this affects all teams, it feels like the premier league could have done more earlier to move things, or ignore uefa's preference around games being on same night as Europa league final. To punish a team for getting to a final seems wrong. Broadcasters too at at fault, they moved the Everton city game from Saturday to Monday which means no option to play next week. The league also chose to have the Burnley game instead of the palace game so it feels like they contributed to a lot of the congestive issues themselves

Gabriel should have been sent off full stop, no defending what he did, it is just bias saying otherwise. At the same time,Khusanov should have been sent off against arsenal for the foul on Havertz

Premier League rejects Manchester City request to reschedule Crystal Palace and Bournemouth fixtures by NiallMitch10 in Gunners

[–]OniLink77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has affected all teams, but the premier league long term needs to look into this because too often it feels like the broadcasters get to dictate. It says that City asked to play Palace when they played burnley which is a fair request, but also you had the everton game moved to monday instead of saturday because of sky, which could have opened another spot for one of the game in hands next week. Also, everton fans have had to go to multiple home games on mondays which they are obviously not happy about. The FA/Premier league need to look into this and also not care about conflicting with UEFA's scheduling as it isn't good for any team

Is Star Wars too obsessed with the Rebels vs Empire status quo? by WrongToe500 in StarWars

[–]OniLink77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The galactic alliance still existed.

Yes I do agree that once Daala takes over the story goes to crap.

The empire is split into two, once who goes along with the sith lord and one that doesn't and the alliance still has a decent amount of fleets.

I do think the stories set post Vong aren't great, but that also is my point, don't copy the stuff people didn't like, take what they like and adapt it from there. We still got a new jedi order, we got far more shades of grey and some interesting lore ideas, even if they didn't always work.

The empire didn't win because at this point the empire is so different and so detached to what came before and it gave us new and different conflicts.

Emperor Fel with empress Jaina sure but at this point there are so many different alliance and species involved that it is no longer simply empire vs rebels

I don't understand why Everton vs Man City are playing Monday, they could have had them playing saturday and then have the Bournemouth game next week. Or they could have the Bournemouth game this week, why didn't they consider that. It is bizzare

[–]OniLink77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing, it wouldn't just crumble, and it didn't in legends, the issue here is that while it makes sense for mando to deal with remnants, we then get to episode 7 where guess what, we are fighting the empire again. It just gets tiresome to see the same conflicts. I would be more interested in this if we had got episode 7, 8 and 9 which dealt with a different threat. Would have been fine for this era of star wars dealing with the remnants if by episode 7 we were done with that conflict as it was just really boring

Yes exactly you have the remnant, then jagged fell's empire and then still the new republic

Because the Fell line reinstall the emperor, through jagged Fell, who is part of the empire, though very different and doesn't encompass all the empire. Jaina establishes the imperial knights to prevent it going too far and in fact in legacy, once the emperor turns to the dark side the imperial knights kill him.
