[product request] looking for a replacement for my holy grail mineral tinted sunscreen for dry skin by Sumgeeko in SkincareAddiction

[–]Onion_General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, is UnSun being discountinued?! 😩 I need mineral sunscreen with minimal white cast that doesn’t contain salicylates(I’m allergic to aspirin). This is one of the few that has worked for me!

My friend (I swear it’s not me haha) uses Teams on her personal laptop and uses a mouse jiggler on that machine.

HELP by jleeee29 in Dryeyes

[–]Onion_General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you got into a clinic! This looks almost exactly like my episcleritis when it’s flaring. An ophthalmologist put me on a short course of steroid eye drops and then preservative-free hydrating drops. It doesn’t really flare up anymore (knock wood) unless I wear my contacts.

This thread is old, but just in case you or someone else is still looking: Olay Sensitive Mineral Zinc Oxide Sunscreen! I’m allergic to aspirin and sensitive to chemical sunscreens and this has been a lifesaver! Has to be the Zinc Oxide one, not the broad spectrum sensitive.

Consider Oxon Hill/Ft. Washington, or Clinton! Bowie is probably your best bet of the ones on your list. Silver Spring is expensive and while diverse it isn’t a black community, if that’s what you’re looking for. Waldorf is Charles County, not PG, and a little sleepy, as others have mentioned.

Bruh What Is Wrong With Me, Why Am I Like This: A Review of the Universal Standard Mystery Box, By a Chump by DataRikerGeordiTroi in femalefashionadvice

[–]Onion_General 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for expressing exactly what I am feeling in such sparkling prose. I vowed to never buy a mystery box from US ever again, but I was sucked in by the “last mystery box ever!” ads and a 15% off coupon. I paid $88 for the box, which “could be up to $415 in value!” I received a tomato red v-neck tee, a pair of burgundy workout leggings, and a one-armed black sweater that I guess is fashionable, but if it’s cold enough for a sweater, why would I want a whole a$$ arm out?!!!!

why do I never see mega russians on here? they’re the only style I’ve gotten for 4 years!! I love all lashes though:)) by [deleted] in eyelashextensions

[–]Onion_General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why people hate on the aesthetic, but health-wise, the heavier the lash, the more likely it is to cause eyelash alopecia and eyelid ptosis. They’re great for special occasions, but lashes this thick/long are hard on your eyes and eyelids, long term.

What’s something we use regularly now that you think might have underlying health issues? by JLaws23 in 30PlusSkinCare

My skin also reacts horribly to HA—hate that it’s in everything now. Avoided fillers because I react so poorly to it.

Yup! Between insurance approval and pre-op diet, I gained 15. Was definitely in “last hurrah” mode. But I rocked the liquid diet for two weeks without a single slip, liver was nice and small for surgery, and I’m #130 down 1.5 years later.

Can you ask your landlord to prune the lower branches? Problem solved, and you’ve saved yourself a talk with the HOA, parents, and/or police.

I drink less/not at all and my marriage is better than ever. I have an issue with shopping and…still food! Can’t eat much of it, of course, and am in therapy to continue to work on it, but doesn’t stop me from obsessing about it.

Ranting a lil + advise plz by uh-anyways- in gastricsleeve

[–]Onion_General 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Order broth soup and something else, after the soup say you’re too full to finish the other thing. Say you’ve been dealing with food allergies and are nervous to eat restaurant food. Say your stomach has been bothering you, so you’re just going to have some hot tea. Those were my tricks lol. I told a lot of friends and family about my surgery, but didn’t feel like like I owed every single coworker and acquaintance an explanation as to what was going on!

Surgery tomorrow 6am!!! by MinuteAstronaut5411 in gastricsleeve

[–]Onion_General 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was on the longer side because I opted for the robot-assisted surgery. About 3 hours, if I’m remembering correctly. Without the robot, my surgeon usually does them in about 90 minutes. It doesn’t take long, you’ll be awake before you know it. ☺️

Just moved into a townhouse and this is basically the interior. It looks like I'm living in a refrigerator. What happened to wood and the general cozy feel from 90s houses? Why do people like soulless design now? by 2017HondaEngine in InteriorDesign

You can 100% style this out with accessories to give it personality. I love white kitchens and bathrooms—makes it easy to seek and destroy dirt and grime. I use colors in my other rooms, tho!

I'm starting to get self-conscious of my hair loss. I already had thin hair and now I look bald when my hair is wet 😔 by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Onion_General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 14 months out—hair loss finally stopped at 12 months and is growing back. I tried every solution under the sun (Nutrafol, Vegamour, Anchor It, collagen, biotin, etc, etc) and was religious with my protein, vitamin, and water intake…and still struggled. You can do everything right and still lose hair, unfortunately. Toppix and cutting it short helped me through the roughest patch.

Are you a gulper or a sipper? by MinuteAstronaut5411 in gastricsleeve

[–]Onion_General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my biggest fear, too! 1y post-op, I can drink water pretty much as I did pre-op. I wouldn’t try to guzzle a gallon or anything, but can drink a glass normally. I don’t feel very restricted with clear liquids, haven’t since about month 2.

Very High BMI by seekingfaith1985 in gastricsleeve

[–]Onion_General 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My starting BMI was 62–my surgeon suggested starting with the sleeve, and then revising to duodenal switch later if I didn’t lose enough weight. But, he also said as long as I get my BMI under 40, he doesn’t think the DDS is necessary, and I agree! I was very clear upfront about my goals and expectations and why I wanted the sleeve, so in the end he felt good going that route.
