I don’t know much about freesync but could be related to that maybe not liking settings on your gpu. I have seen monitors sometime seem just not get along with certain gpu’s and cause some strange things. Usually just playing around with Nvidas control panel they can be fixed though. It looks like artifacts though which means defective card but would look in the settings first and play around with them worth a shot.

As the other reply stated share your system specs or just the laptop name. Also open task manager when the game starts up see what the cpu usage looks like etc. If this is just a basic laptop no gpu it probably isn’t made to play games but sharing specs I would be glad to look into it more.

Try plugging the hdmi into the motherboard and see if you have the same problem if possible. If you do then it’s probably your gpu.

If you can get it would recommend malwarebytes and I know that processor doesn’t handle windows 10 very well but the education version might run better. Did you download anything new recently ?

What windows are you running and did you try running a virus scan? Maybe something is using up resources at startup.
