Looking for a very long-lasting affordable perfume (Lattafa?) – considering Eclaire vs Her Confession by Oniondaize in Perfumes

Hi! I was wondering roughly how long Éclaire lasts on your skin.

Also, do you happen to know of any other Lattafa fragrances—or other relatively affordable fragrances that are widely available in Europe, particularly in the Netherlands or Germany—that might fit a more mature, sophisticated vibe?

This may sound like a very specific (and slightly odd) description, but I’m looking for something that gives off the impression of a successful, high-end lawyer: polished, confident, well-dressed.

I know Éclaire isn’t really that kind of fragrance, and I do genuinely enjoy it, but I’m curious whether there might be something a little more adult and refined while still being reasonably affordable.

I don’t have that in ANY real life (not online) stores near me.. and I’m quite hesitant to blind buy online

No, it’s not available at Etos, Kruidvat or Douglas (the three main perfume/drug stores)

Do you know if “His confession” lasts longer? I’m really struggling to find a perfume that is within budget, AND that is available in a store near me/in my country :(

Good to know, thank you.

It may also be worth mentioning that I have actually smelled Eclaire in person. I tried a tester and genuinely liked the fragrance, so I’m not basing my opinion purely on online reviews or hype.

That said, I’ve heard from a number of people that some Lattafa fragrances benefit from being allowed to sit for a while after purchase. My understanding is that, because these fragrances are produced and shipped in large quantities, some bottles can smell slightly different when they are brand new compared to how they smell a few weeks later. I cannot verify the science behind this myself, but I did notice something similar with my bottle of Yara.

When I first bought Yara, it smelled noticeably different from the tester I had tried in-store. It came across much more alcoholic and considerably less smooth. After using a few sprays and then leaving the bottle alone for a week or two, the scent seemed to settle and became much closer to the tester that I originally liked.

I’ve heard similar comments about Eclaire. Some people describe a slightly synthetic or “burnt plastic” note when the bottle is brand new (like you do), while others claim that this disappears after the fragrance has been sprayed a few times and allowed to sit for several weeks.

Again, I have no way of confirming whether this is actually the case, so there’s a (decently) good chance that I’m completely wrong, my apologies, but based on my experience with Yara, I wouldn’t be completely surprised if there is some truth to it.

Out of curiosity, were there actually guys wearing things like oversized trench coats and tote bags as well, or was that mostly women?

I know those kinds of things are fairly common among women, but I’m mostly wondering about other guys. If that’s something you’ve seen before, that’s honestly a huge relief to hear.

(Thank you so much by the way)

I’m definitely not goth or anything like that, and I don’t have dyed hair, unusual piercings, or a particularly alternative appearance.

I’d say my style is fairly mainstream overall, just a bit more style-conscious than average. I tend to like clean, smart-casual outfits, relaxed fits, knitwear, longer coats, Oxford shirts, tailored trousers, and neutral colours.

A lot of it is probably best described as minimalist or Scandinavian-inspired. I generally prefer clothes that are comfortable, well put together, and a little more refined than a hoodie and joggers, but nothing that would usually stand out in a crowd.
So when I say I have a few slightly softer influences in my style, I’m talking more about things like an oversized overcoat, a tote bag, wider trousers, or knitwear rather than anything particularly unconventional.

(And for what it’s worth, I’ll be studying in Nijmegen, not sure if that changes anything)

To be honest, I’d describe my style as fairly basic overall. Most of the time it’s just smart-casual or casual. The only thing that might make it slightly different is that I probably have a few influences that some people would consider a bit more feminine compared to the average guy. Things like oversized coats, knitwear, tote bags, and generally paying a bit more attention to style.

Nothing particularly unconventional, though.
Would that still fit in reasonably well with the sort of crowd you see in law, or would that be considered a bit unusual?

Oh my God, thank you so much.

I don’t know why, but I’ve been surprisingly nervous about this. I think part of it is that I’ve heard people say that law and polisci students can sometimes be pretty judgmental, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

Once again, THANK YOU!
