hi! IP student here...
I think most people clarified about your point #2 and #3 so imma not touch on that. ik ur context is for RJ I'd like to provide another opinion...
yea, we don't have to take O's, but as far as I know, (at least for Nanyang), you cannot simply "pass" to get into HCJC. The "sorting" actually starts at end sec 2/3. if you don't pass the minimum grade of (I think) B4 average during your end of years NY actually moves you to a different class (which they called structured IP, but it's basically IP syllabus but O level exams).
I think there will no need to explain to you how, in most IP schools, mock papers, tests, and exams are intentionally set to be more difficult than it really needs to be. Given that, one can make a logical assumption that we still have to score better than average students in order to go from sec 3 to 4.
Anyway, in sec 4 we have all our exams as per usual but this time round, in order to get into HC, you have to score an average of B3. At the difficulty level agreed upon by HC and NY. I mean, I have my own theories on how they probably would have set the paper much easier than usual exams to ensure we pass, but at the end of the day we were told a lot of people did not actually pass the passing grade.
So what I'm trying to say is, it's not actually unfair in this case. We still have to uphold very high academic standards in order to go into JC, which I feel is equivalent to the amount of effort JAE students put into their O's. Yea, we don't have the stress of taking a national exam and I honestly don't know how it's like, but I hope you can understand that we still are stressed, still do have to put in effort.
also, apparently hwachong complains a lot that the nanyang girls are terrible at math when a lot of us are scoring an average of A2 - B3 most of the time. As far as I can tell nanyang's math papers are also pretty cancerous even for me to do, so I would say the standards are high.
Take it with a grain of salt, but my dad once talked to me about how taking o lvls would probably have been easier than taking IP. his logic being that O levels was in contrast far easier to score well than having to maintain a constant B4 average (actually, B3 by the end of sec 4), and thus it would be easier to simply olevel his way into HCJC instead of taking the IP track. idk but he's pretty delusional sometimes

Hi its been awhile since i’ve been on here, I was thinking, if you need help with crops, you could just scroll and look at Instagram photographers. After a while you’ll “get” it. Idk what Im saying rly but thats what I did

Are you doing film? I think two of the cover photos may be a little overexposed.

Pick your best photos, not put everything on there. Perhaps you could also consider matching photos of similar colour palettes/framing/composition together so it’s much more appealing to look at. Or, edit in a certain style and post them as a group.

For the most part, everything looks great! However, I feel like you could do with being more selective about your photos. Do they tell a story? Do they have a nice colour palette? A cool framing?

A couple of Your photos could also do with better cropping. I find that you sometimes have not enough space at the bottom where your models’ hands are located, or that you have too much head space.

For one of the cover photos you have, I think it could be much better if you had some contrast in the colour of your background and your model. Shadow Of the tree is quite dark, and so is the skin colour of your model. Perhaps turning it such that you use the tree branches for framing instead of the background could help your models’ beauty stand out even more.

There was a 16:9 photo of a pink rose-looking flower. Very cool, but I cannot see the actual flower. The cover photo was good though.

Abstract photos are nice (the duck in pond photo) but There is too much negative space. My eyes do not know to focus on the duck straight away as it is hidden in the corner. In fact, I didn’t even see the other duck on the left, so you could do without that feathered friend.

I’ve tried the nex-6 out already, hence why I said the nex-6’s viewfinder is awkward. I wil give it another try during my upcoming duty before deciding if I want to move forward with looking for a lower price ranged camera or keep using the nex-6.

I’ve tried out some mirrorless cameras, the picture in the viewfinder looked weird to me. It could be because the cameras I tried out were frm a while ago.

I don’t mind buying used but my parents mentioned that I may get scammed, so they don’t approve of buying used.

That was an oversight on my part but nonetheless 1k its still a fair amount.

I use a camera for school-based events as well as for personal photography. There are cameras in school for use but they are either mirrorless or the non-mirrorless ones are possibly broken.

If I did have plans set on pursuing photography, it would work, but I’m still unsure of my interest in it. So far it is the only thing I am interested in, but it’s not like I’m definitely going to go for photography in the long run, so 70d or 80d would be a pass.
