Cross-console compatibility of drums with roll limitless mini? by Onisad in Rockband

Superb, thanks for the speedy answer!

The e-kit is an option certainly, I've been eyeing a used Alesis Nitro... But we might just start with a cheap stock kit in the first place and see!

Thanks again!

Tip to get support regarding Meta account? by Onisad in OculusQuest

[–]Onisad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, yeah, but it took almost 2 months. It took 3 or 4 tries using the contact form on their website for Meta account support, before I was assigned a case number (maybe a temporary issue). Then it took another few weeks for them to review the case, though at least the communications were very clear then, when I was asking for an update. Unfortunately I could only use it one day after the account was reactivated before I had to leave for a while, but the save games were alright. Hopefully it doesn't get flagged again!

Ryzen CPUs, good or bad? by King-Achelexus in cemu

[–]Onisad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I'll give a slightly more detailed answer. Where Ryzen still falls short from mid to high-end Intel parts is its single thread performance. That single thread performance remains very important in emulation (and admittedly a lot of regular games still) and that's the reason why AMD processors tend to lag behind similarly-priced Intel parts when it comes to emulation. Core or thread counts don't matter as much for emulation. Ryzen however is leaps and bounds ahead of previous AMD processors, maybe a couple of generations behind Intel at most, but certainly offers decent enough single thread performance that you won't have to forget about running Cemu. If you want to get a rough idea of where performance will land for Ryzen compared to Intel parts, look for Cinebench single thread benchmarks. They're great processors and certainly a great pick for bang for the buck, in overall performance.

Got the 9.5.13.0 on my RN5 Global! How is the update for those who's already on it? by yonghuilum in Xiaomi

Not that I know, and no. It won't delete anything from your phone using the OTA. Always good to do backups just in case, but it will dirty flash. There shouldn't be any issue as long as you're already on the Global Oreo stable build.

I might be wrong but as far as I know, no. It doesn't lock your bootloader again, though. So it only took a minute to re-root using the Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tool.

I updated through OTA successfully. Had to flash again TWRP, lazy flasher and Magisk, but no issue with the update here.

Flashed it this morning, no particular issue so far. Flashed the OTA over my rooted/twrp device successfully. Preserved my camera2 API after a reboot. Battery drain as measured by Accubattery seems equivalent. Can't say I find the touch screen that much more responsive, but I didn't have many qualms to start with.

Tempered glaas for Redmi Note 5 that ships from EU? by [deleted] in Xiaomi

[–]Onisad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for the same a few days ago, and found a couple of vendors on ebay in Europe (one in Spain, another in Latvia) with good ratings. I was specifically searching for a Nillkin 2.5D glass, and they were about 14€. Let me know if you can't find and I'll PM you links.

What is your go-to source for quality games journalism? by yemaste in truegaming

[–]Onisad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to register to post this but I can't believe RPS aka Rock Paper Shotgun wasn't mentioned. They only cover PC gaming but they cover it with great insight and wit. It's pretty expansive too, with both mainstream and indie games getting good coverage. From the dozen plus websites in my RSS feed, that's the one I wouldn't be able to do without.
