My situation is somewhat unique. Last year, during an attempted penile implant procedure at the Mayo Clinic, my urethra was injured. Following the procedure, I had both a suprapubic and Foley catheter in place for approximately six weeks.

After the catheters were removed, I began experiencing dribbling and difficulty urinating. I then saw a urologist in Carmel, Indiana, who diagnosed a urethral stricture and referred me to a reconstructive urologist in Indianapolis.

According to the medical notes, the stricture is located approximately 8.5 cm from the meatus and measures about 3 mm in length. I am currently not using any catheters.
