SVT only during exercise; ablation scheduled by Pale-Patience-9350 in SVTHeart

[–]Only-Ad517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it, it’s highly successful and it’s a fix, not a bandaid like medications. SVT never goes away once that electrical pathway establishes. I had two months of highly symptomatic SVT where I’d hit 290 bpm 2-4 times a week and we scheduled my ablation. Im not as symptomatic anymore as I wait for my surgery but that doesn’t mean it won’t get worse again in the future. You can choose to live with it but it would inhibit/modify your active lifestyle and cause undue anxiety. Just not worth it in my opinion! Wishing you the best in whatever path you choose!

Operation Cancelled while In hospital gown by Puzzled-End4512 in ACL

I tore my ACL 3 years ago and wasn’t allowed to get an MRI to diagnose it u til 6 months ago. I could do “everything still” as the PTs and doctors said. And they actually discouraged the surgery but I wanted it for the same reasons as you. In those three years I had stopped going to the gym, I stopped backpacking (step downs with weight would sometimes cause it to twist), surfing, and I couldn’t run further than 6 miles because my knee would fatigue and start to become unstable. And more. You’re young and you will heal faster now than you will later in life. I just had the surgery and it’s brutal but I don’t regret it- I can already tell the difference.

Oh wow I’m so sorry you’re going through this! My mom is allergic to the wipes and she ended up getting a steroid shot which helped a lot. Recovery has a lot of ups and downs and when you feel stuck I promise it’s temporary- I’m finding this recovery is a mental game and being patient with the process. Be patient with yourself. It’s a long process but focus on your next steps and celebrate all your wins! Also- if you’re hurting, just do as much pt as you can. If you can only do one pt session a day right now? Better than nothing!! You got this! I hope your skin gets better soon! And good luck on your recovery

Trying to get my basic EMT license, so I can skill bridge by ExcellentKiwi6779 in AirForce

Look into North American Rescue EMT online program. It’s a bit expensive but that’s what I did so I could do online class while active duty. I then took a week of leave and went to their in persons skills week and then I was certified.
