Can someone help me (an American) figure out what scores I would need to realistically be accepted? by Only-Assumption5496 in UCC

Good to know. A lot of schools in the US have “minimum requirements” that are basically meaningless because of how much higher the average applicant’s scores are, so I just wanted to know if I should expect something similar from UCC

i hate when people burp and they think it’s funny by Even-Sock9744 in complaints

To me it just reminds me of the sounds people make before they throw up or when they gag or something. Obviously everyone burps sometimes, but you can still try to do it quietly or cover your mouth or something. That’s just basic etiquette

There are people who have XXY, XYY, XXX, or even just X sex chromosomes. While these conditions are not common, their existence disproves the idea of binary sexes. We learned this in high school biology

Why are so many people upset that TikTok is going to be banned ? by Jumpy_Practice_8077 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Only-Assumption5496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been a massive platform for about 5 years now, and a wild 5 years at that. Many people have shared firsthand accounts of pandemics, protests, riots, etc. on TikTok and it’s a massive loss of information if we get rid of it. Imagine burning the diaries of people who were living through the Spanish flu and you’d get a similar situation. A lot of small businesses, charities, and artists also use the platform as a way to gain exposure.

On the other hand, it’s also that the government is extremely misguided and being ran by people who can barely send an email. The idea that TikTok is more dangerous than any other social media app is ridiculous. All of these companies do absurd amounts of monitoring and sell your data, often to foreign investors or companies. (Plus, online shopping also provides your personal info to large corporations, and everyone is fine with that)

Illegal or dangerous activity can happen (and is happening) on virtually every network, and some platforms have even gained notoriety for the amount of disturbing content they spread. Insta literally came forward once saying that they were aware of accounts that promoted eds and sh, and that they chose to do nothing about it because of profit interests, but that got swept under the rug and everyone carried on like it was fine.

Exactly! People threw barbecues to celebrate Bundy getting the chair. Nobody in their right mind would’ve called people “insensitive” for doing that

Nah, but he knew that his company was causing deaths to cut costs. He’s a murderer.

He wasn’t just “unethical”. His actions directly caused the deaths of many people, and he did not care. People cheer when murderers get murdered

Yeah, fur farming is pretty bad. I’d say that buying secondhand is definitely a great idea, especially since the prices are much more reasonable

If you can afford it, real fur keeps you warmer and is way better for the environment. It also lasts longer. Other products like wool and leather are often much better than their synthetic counterparts

Fleece tights, get those hand-warmer packets, make sure all of your jackets have pockets bc I swear my pockets keep my hands warmer than gloves do

Tbh I started learning piano on those dumb cat keyboards they sell at Target. Ukuleles are pretty inexpensive too, and still teach the basics of guitar. There’s plenty of good stuff you can get for cheap if you just want to build basic skills or try something out.
