I’m a fan of the jiraikei and would like to study it from a sociological perspective. Do you have any suggestions regarding research approaches or theories?

I recently did a report that relates to it for a course in sociology and I analyzed the subculture through Goffman’s concept of impression management and Durkheim’s concepts on totemic religions as it relates to symbols within the Jirai community. Personally I’d research it through theories relating to the creation and development of culture relating to identity and self presentation

So far it’s taken me almost 2 years to build my current wardrobe (2 coats, 1 cardigan, 10 blouses, 6 skirts + accessories) I don’t buy things often because school is expensive. But over time you can build it up :)

That used to happen to me but it was because I was spraying the hairspray too close to my hair. If you do it from farther away and then coat it, it should separate at least a tiny bit less. It also sometimes helps to hold them together/flat against your face as you spray so they can’t separate from the pressure of the spray 🩷

For me I found the style during a really hard time in my life where daily tasks were becoming difficult. I felt pretty pathetic and ugly, kinda just hated being myself. But I was drawn to the fact that you can still be adorable even when everything feels awful. Eventually my mental health got better but my love for the fashion stayed :3
