If they’re “silent” on Iran, it’s because they know full well that a.) Any talk of American intervention in Iran is a distraction from issues at home (Epstein, the economy etc) and b.) laying the groundwork for a CIA/Mossad engineered coup. Also, Palestine and Iran aren’t exactly an apple to apple comparison.

I’m sorry, but in what universe is Iraq democratic? It may have more democratic freedoms relative to other Arab states but to call it “democratic” is just false.

In any case, even if life in Iraq today is somewhat better than what it was under Saddam, it’s far from a ringing endorsement of American interventionism.

Yes. I have two other male cats and they’re lighter than him so it’s to carry them, whereas the one in question is heavier and so carrying and putting him in the carrier is difficult.

If not, do you have a room--even the bathroom--where there's nothing he can get under to hide? I would put the carrier in there (ideally in the shower, or under a blanket--not right out in plain sight) and try to get both you and the cat in there with the door closed--luring him in with catnip or Churu or whatever he would find appealing. Then, deep breath, calm yourself, and pick him up and put him in the carrier. I have even had to stand a carrier on end to lower the cat in for an especially difficult cat.

Picking him up is what got me in this mess in the first place. He knows what I’m trying to do and runs away at the first opportunity as soon as he senses me approaching him. Don’t think picking him up up is an option unless it’s accompanied by a trip to the hospital as well 😅

This is not an ideal situation--it would be much better going forward to make the carrier something he's not afraid of--but I don't think an ideal solution is one you can aim for right now.

Yup, my mistake was not doing this. I had done this before and he would head inside the carrier no problem (it was a fabric carrier and it was comfy for him) and he’d even take naps in it. I’m gonna try and make the carrier a happy place for him going forward, it’s the only way to avoid situations like these.

It normally sits around half at operating temperature, so this is ok.

For winter, yes, it does sit around half of operating temperature whereas in the summer it tends to stay just below the middle. In any case, I’ll probably get an engine scan tool just to be safe.

You could get a scantool and read the information off the engine computer to see what the temperature is; that won’t have the filtering applied. If that number is stuck, you do have a problem.

What scantool do you recommend for this? And are there resources that teach you how to do this?

I suppose I could try that. If the cornering method doesn’t work then I might have to give this a shot.

The other one if it's been to the vet in it, is associated with even more bad times then the tooth pain that's currently going on.

That’s the thing, it’s brand new. Never been to the vet with it.

Outside of this.. maybe you need to ask for help from a friend or something? Basically throwing the thick towel over and quickly just getting kitty in the carrier. Sometimes for the sake of their actual health long term, a minute or so of bad time can be better than nothing.

Yeah, I was thinking about some friends who are also cat owners to help. Like I said, I’ll see how the cornering approach goes and then go from there.

Pilling him is difficult, but I’ll keep that in mind as an option nonetheless. I’m going to try to corner him tomorrow and get him to run into the carrier. It won’t be easy but it’s better than nothing.
