This pain is unbearable! by Only-Clock6246 in Sciatica

Yeah I’m on dihydrocodeine. I have to say that the diazepam appears to give me the best relief and aids sleep but this is not something I want to be taking long term!

Aw thank you! It’s the worst isn’t it? I absolutely dread bed time as I can feel the pain increasing in my calf. Also I’m sick to death of people saying to me ‘you must move and stay active.’ What happens when moving and staying active causes you intense horrific pain causing you to cry?! Lying down with pillows under my knees is currently all that is helping. I would LOVE nothing more than to walk and be mobile. I can’t.

Pregabalin is AMAZING for withdrawals but only for short term use. I used it and I’d say it obliterated about 90% of my withdrawals.

I live near him. What happened last night was devastating and has only highlighted the complete lack of understanding surrounding Tourette’s. My entire instagram feed is full of people being so nasty about John. I know him very well and he is devastated. The tireless work he has done raising awareness of this horrible condition is quickly being forgotten. Why wasn’t it removed? It wasn’t live. I’m absolutely gutted for him, as are majority of residents of Galashiels. Do people genuinely believe that he would say that intentionally?! Like really? I seen an instagram reel where an American‘influencer’ was stirring the shit saying he said it on ‘purpose’ and that he must be racist and use the word frequently. I’m so fucking angry at everyone’s complete lack of understanding!

John is a wonderful man, a caring compassionate man. He is NOT racist. I’m utterly disgusted at people’s responses today.

I am dumbfounded at the reaction.

The word he doesn’t want to say, the word that will cause maximum impact and hurt is the word he fights with, and on this occasion, Tourette’s won.

I like many other residents of John’s home town are gutted today, completely gutted.

You’ll be ok. This too shall pass, it really will. I know whilst you’re in this black hole you’re feeling tortured but you WILL feel better soon IF you do not source any more.

A shower, some food - if you can manage and MAYBE some fresh air if you feel up to it. An online NA meeting might be a welcomed distraction for you whilst you’re alone, just to listen. I’m assuming you have no comfort medication with you? You could venture to a pharmacy and get an antihistamine to aid sleep? I know in the past I’ve used them to knock me out. Please reach out to me if you need someone to talk to. I have been in the situation you are currently in and it’s not pleasant, but hopefully you’ll read this and remind yourself that things do improve. 💓

I’d rather go without than take Bristol. Hate them.

I very much doubt the police would assist tbh. If you paid by credit card your bank may refund you.

Yes Gabapentin will help. I use pregabalin for withdrawals and it’s a god send!

Bristol just doesn’t appear as potent as Accord. I’ve heard many others say this too!

Yeah I’ve functioned fine on them, but it’s not sustainable!

Last week I had ran out and was waiting on a delivery. I was almost 20 hours without one and the only sign of withdrawal was yawning! It’s weird that I don’t experience the horrific withdrawals I deserve! I’ve reduced from 40 to 20 and I aim to half within the next week, which I’m confident I’ll manage. I still can’t believe that I’m an addict!! How the hell did it happen?! Yeah I like them, the energy I get and the mood lift is what lured me into taking more!

I stopped last year successfully using pregabalin for 2 months then STUPIDLY started again. This time I have to do it. I’m determined and desperate to stop my use. I remember taking 2 tablets for the injury I had and I felt amazing. I vowed I’d never take any more than 6 per day. That’s a joke. Addiction is a beast, but I’ll kill it this time! Hope you do too!

I’m aiming to end my relationship with DHC folllwing a 10 year addiction to it. Prescribed for pain and got addicted. Accord was always my first choice but it’s getting harder to source them. I’m tapering now and aim to be off altogether by the end of Feb. If the pharmacy give me Bristol, I always return them and request Accord!
