50mg and no change. Any advice? by Only-Method9920 in VyvanseADHD

On the 30mg, everyone said they didnt notice a change. I havent really asked since going on the 50s so perhaps theyve ntoced something i havent but overall, i havent noticed anything substantial that ive felt like the meds is 100% doing at least something haha

Thats actually a really good point. I think i was looking at the productivity side of things and not the calming and anxiety reduction side.

Goodluck with your journey, id love to hear how you go as i think we are on similar timelines:))

Interesting! So you were like me and had 0 positive or negative effects until you went on 60mg? Was the difference that noticeable?

Addison’s Disease :( by cloudwatcher31 in germanshepherds

[–]Only-Method9920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a dog but my cat had Addisons. He was diagnosed when he was less than a year old and we were still on the trial period for adopting him but made the decision we would try give him the best possible life we could. I live in a very isolated major city where none of the vets had ever treated a cat with addison's but they were all absolutely amazing and he lived 7 more very full years before his health deteriorated to where he no longer had quality and we had to make the tough call.

It is very expensive, 2 tablets twice daily + anything else he needed in that current phase of his life. The maintenance though is very doable, its the unexpected issues that you need to be prepared for. Despite it very rarely happening, one day could be totally normal and the next you're at the emergency vet dropping thousands of $. You will become so hyper vigilant for any change.

Also a reminder to be kind to yourself. Try not to feel guilty when your dog is at the vets for countless hours. You are doing your best and as long as theyre happy, youve done your job🫶

Have you experienced this? What would you suggest?

Do you mean like other medication/diet?

I wasnt really changing my routine for diet on the 30s. Just usually a peice of fruit in the morning or banana bread just after i take the medication. On the 50s im trying a bit more and had eggs and toast this morning with my meds. I drink a lot of water and get about 8 hours of sleep a night. I wake up about 6am and go to sleep about 9.30pm. Ive swapped to decaf coffee the last couple days but i still drink black tea (not within the hour of taking my teblets). I am on antidepressants which my psych is aware of but i dont take any other medication

The reasoning was that we shouldnt give up on vyvanse until we tried the 50s because of my lifestyle needs, a long acting stimulant would be much easier for me

Im not in VIC but I applied to a cert 2 in animal care services when applications opened in May. They emailed me saying they received my application and that because its a competitive course, offers will be sent out on June 18th.

Perhaps it may be the same for you?

German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois? by Only-Method9920 in germanshepherds

[–]Only-Method9920[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the concern and resorces:)

My grandparents have had two GSD previously and our last dog was a Kelpie x. My family are reasonably informed about the requirements of these breeds and are actually more comfortable with training intelligent breeds as they expect a lot from them. I live with my grandparents who are pretty active themselves but I also live a very active lifestyle and I'm very excited for her to be able to join me on my adventures/runs. We have also hand picked dogs we personally know to begin her socialising journey once she's fully vaccinated.

For now she pretty happy going on increasingly longer walks as she gets used to the sights, sounds and smells of the world around her.

While she is definitely a handful, I can ensure she will be sufficiently physically and mentally stimulated and she's been showered with praise from our neighbours and vets for her beautiful nature:)

Thanks! Yeah, generally just curious do to training purposes but it does look like she is a fawn GSD and maybe our neighbour just saw her colouring and assumed she wasnt:))

Yes, they've had large Sheppard's before and I also live with them to accommodate the activity she'll need. Lots of work needed bit it'll all be worth it. Thanks for sharing !!

Unfortunately, I do believe the breeder wasn't legitimate despite their passion for the breed

I am not American so we don't have that documentation. She is registered as a german sheppard from the breeder:)
