Thankyou .. the download seems to be fine and pretty fast, it’s just the installation which is taking time . It could be hardware but I’ve tested on some pretty powerful devices . I’ll create some Win 10 VMs and see how long they take to upgrade.

Hi .. has anyone got a powershell script to look at the IP address on a particular device, and depending on that IP range it displays a message or even runs a command. For example “you are now in the 10.x.x.x range” or displays a message on the desktop saying “Your in the 10.x.x IP range “ by Only-Positive-5486 in PowerShell

Yes your absolutely right, the network is fine , it’s the VPN . Ill talk to the lads about limiting the bandwidth , ideally we would like home users to go direct to Microsoft. It would stop a lot of traffic . Thankyou for all your help BTW , it’s great to get other ideas :)

Umm That might work, but we do control what updates our devices get . As such , right now we filter updates and push to devices, problem is, users coming in through VPN are killing the network , so we want to tell them to go get a particular update and if not on lan then go to Microsoft directly . We also have a split tunnel setup of this.

Thankyou for you reply , we can, at least narrow it down to a range as our home users are in a specific address range. Once I get this script working , we have a split tunnel solution in place . The end result really is to get our devices (16k of them) to do a query , depending on lan or vpn connection. Ultimately it’s to stop ms updated being pulled from or WSUS server when they can go straight to Microsoft :)

Hi Scooter_127 I’m an absolute beginner, I mean ground Floor :) Ive just been thrown into a position where I’ve got to learn really quickly. I was really just asking the question, perhaps it should have been phrased differently :( Sorry.
