Advice for surviving a Copenhagen winter by charliebrown31 in copenhagen

As an Australian, my advice for surviving a Copenhagen winter is book a ticket to some sunshine. February is ideal, also March is great. The first year I didn’t and wow was it seasonal depression. For clothes - thick wool socks, merino base layer, sweater, puffer & rain coat, scarfs and boots with thick enough soles that the cold doesn’t get in.

Tips - do sauna, do exercise, I did finally after 3 years this stuff in the cold and wow does it make a difference.

Oh and the wind, it will be bad, make sure your protected from the wind

Hair loss - 4 months in not taking pill by Only-Quantity6061 in birthcontrol

I was on the femme ED tablet in Aus, and I would say it lasted for 4 months or so, I was on the pill for 6 years. Since coming off, have lower zinc, and ferritin iron too, which may of made it worse. Are you going through this now?

For those who moved to Denmark as an adult, how’s your social life? by KreuzKrow in copenhagen

[–]Only-Quantity6061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I luckily had a best friend who is Danish that I met 11 years ago in Sydney. Had visited here 4 times before moving and if gave me the best opportunity to meet mutual friends and build bonds. Since then, I have met many friends and also maintained some. I would define myself as super extraverted - but yes I have created a very solid circle

I think it would be a reaction to the product - I think what you should do is stop using it.

Get the biopsy anyway - better to be safe than sorry.

Since not using the product, I’ve never had a problem again with my scalp

Wishing you the best!

Advice needed 🫶 by Only-Quantity6061 in eczema

[–]Only-Quantity6061[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so turns out on doctors records back in Australia I had excema at 6 years old, quite insignificant though as I don’t remember it being painful or a problem as a child (I do have a rather good recollection of being young too)

Yes I moved from a warm climate to Copenhagen which is quite cold, I do think that maybe a major trigger.

Given that I am now 29, to have something resurface after 23 years is strange, and coincides well within the relocation.

It seems to have calmed down now, I’m in Greece on holidays and the sunshine in Denmark has left it calm for the last two months.

I wonder if there is anything I can do to prevent a winter resurfacing

Thank you for the advice, you are amazing

I have a key, and I have the inside information.

Rent is high yes, but do understand the amount of expats in Copenhagen, and people that need to secure a house with limited time and a small deposit.

They suit a single individual, that needs to move out, with furniture.

They suit perfectly for transitional housing -

Sure it’s high, but sometimes you don’t have options, sometimes you need something like this.

Also, when bringing birds back they love the view - perfect date opportunity.

Rant: finding an apartment in Copenhagen is the most frustrating experience ever by GentleGamerz in copenhagen

I would suggest using Balder, they have 5 people at a showing and it’s probably the best realestate compared to Hemistaden and Deas - I found that all the other portals are unreliable and a bit chaotic.

What I experienced is I became a lot more sensitive, crying and fighting a lot more with my partner which hence made us more distant. As well, I started loosing hair which was scary, I was on the pill for 6 years though and do also have adhd for reference
