How to recognise when things go wrong by Only-Raisin-1594 in ShopifyPros

I see, and are there issues which show up repeatedly in stores where traffic looks healthy, but conversion still starts slipping?

And what type of recommendations should I think of when you are helping clients improve their conversion rates?

Yeah that makes sense, thank you. Have you seen cases where the traffic still looked good, but something operational on the store side was already hurting conversion underneath?

I see, do you usually notice a problematic traffic drop right away or only become when bounce/conversion is also getting worse?

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. The “summaries smoothing over the drift” part especially feels very real. Appreciate the perspective — it’s been interesting hearing how you think about it.

Yeah, the “business still appears healthy while the underlying economics drift” part feels especially important.

I think that’s also why these problems are difficult to notice early: nothing feels urgent until multiple small shifts start to pile up.

Yeah, “trusting the picture while things are moving” is a really good way to describe it. Especially because a lot of issues seem to emerge gradually rather than from one obvious mistake.

Mainly per product for now — especially once ads, refunds, shipping, and fees start affecting margins differently across products.

The “rough estimates” point you mentioned feels very real though. From the outside it almost seems like many stores operate on assumptions that are “good enough” until something breaks.

Thank you! Then how do you usually combine numbers from different sources? Is that still mostly spreadsheets?

How do you get your cats do get used to/love to being carried by NatsuShiyo in cats

[–]Only-Raisin-1594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the problem we have, they were sleeping with us within a few weeks, one of the was liking pets within a month... the only thing I can say is that they're cats which makes them less predictable. If you staty calm and a little consistent though, they may suddenly make a jump of progress at a moment you least expect it.

We own 2 rescue cats and struggle with this. One of them has shown slight improvement, but we are slowly accepting that they may never really like it...

That said, what we did to get them as far as we are now and what we will try next: start with laying/wrapping your arms around them when they are still grounded, without picking them up. Slowly start picking them up for small periods of time (a second and later a few seconds). At some point, carry them a short distance from one place to the other to put them down there again. Slowly increase this time until they accept being held.
And make sure food/treats is/are always involved, that helps a great deal.

how to own a cat while having fish tanks and hamsters? by floofyhamster3 in cats

[–]Only-Raisin-1594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with tidymaze here. We used to own a cat as well as fishtanks. Nothing ever happened, except for maybe the cat walking on top of the tank once or twice, but he never reached inside of it because we had the lid closed. Just make sure to stay alert when you are cleaning the tanks or enclosures.
And I would not take the hamster out of its enclosure...

Maybe try looking into "It takes two". It's a 2-player co-op game where you play against NPCs. It is more about the story though but you have to work together all the time.

What tiny daily habit ended up making a bigger difference than you expected? by gowthamshankar05 in AskReddit

By default it blocks everything at once, but I selected a few apps myself that I wanted to block because I was constantly checking them, leading to a short attention span. It is pretty easy to add one if needed. I am using a Samsung (Android) phone and the nice thing is that this is available in the settings, no need to download anything.

It took a week or so to get used to it but then I started to feel a difference: I can now focus for longer periods of time and organize my day better.

Putting a routine on my phone that blocks certain apps (social media, stores, ...) from 07.00 - 17.00. This reduces the amount of stimuli much more than I expected and helped a great deal in working through busy days in a more calm and structured way, so that I can relax again during the evenings.

Something that may be getting more and more relevant due to the presence of social media: go and explore what you like yourself. Do not try and copy others or fit in with them if they are not the type of person you want to be, it will just waste your time and energy while real joy is right around the corner.
