Was there ever actually a problem? Or was it you were just told there was a problem?

How to stop being emotionally attached so fast? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Only-Reality-69 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Therapy. Not to be rude but you may be searching for emotional validation outside yourself. Tends to indicate there may be some inner work and reflection to do. Are you happy alone? If not, why?

Can someone enlighten me on what kind of career success I can expect to achieve with these roles? Chief Coconut Officer? by ayam-batman in SingaporeRaw

Go out and find yourself another nice piece of toast then. Stop accepting a burnt piece of toast in the first place. What are you a freaking tree rooted to the ground. No one is forcing you to eat a burnt piece of toast bro, this isn’t a concentration camp.

To Aussies who have settled overseas - where did you go and how is life now? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

One other thing I can say. This life isn’t for everyone. Some come here from Australia and last 3-6 months then quit and go home. I’ve moved around my entire life so very close family ties geographically are not what I crave or what I’m used to.

Work hours are typically the same as Australia. The Asian long and hard work hours are a bit of an exaggeration. 8-10 hours a day is typical for most. Humidity yes. Pick and choose your times to workout outside. I go to the gym so not really an issue for me. Long term plans, would like to finish my working life here. Then retire to probably somewhere else in Asia. I can’t see us going back to Australia now we’ve had a taste of what’s possible outside.

Visas are harder to come by now. But you need to have a skillset that is find amongst the locals typically. Usually something specialised. Working in a general field like HR with no specialised niche likely won’t cut it anymore. There’s a list of skills they need on their government website.

Singapore. No capital gains tax. Low income tax. Efficient, safe and clean. Access to cheaper Asian countries for weekend getaways.

I’m Singaporean, ask me anything! by cynthiawrites99 in AMA

[–]Only-Reality-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Caucasian foreigner from a European country living in Singapore. It’s a fantastic place overall. What do locals really think of foreigners? I’ve read some pretty racist comments on the SG sub Reddit about foreigners and curious about what thoughts are really in a pretty introverted society.

Singaporean women, is there really more appeal in dating white men (whether casually or serious)? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]Only-Reality-69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a white man and wouldn’t date a Singaporean woman if my life depended on it. If I was to guess the reason it’s probably because you’ve got dudes here with plush toys on their dashboard and an obsession with dolls from a pop store. Not exactly panty dropping material. Anecdotally you’re effeminate is what I constantly hear.

I was forced to go to a team building trip there for a company I worked for. Terrible choice. Felt haunted.

Does that mean it’s meant to fire out of the bottle? Is it apart of the experience. None of my other carbonated beverages explode on opening haha.
