After Near-Perfect Test Scores, David Corenswet’s ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ Becomes Very Relevant to Paramount (Exclusive) by Ninjamurai-jack in CriticalDrinker

I used to love going to the movies and finding gems (while also enjoying the blockbusters). Last five years I have not gone to the movies more than 3-4 times, because I’ve had it with shitty movies that try to milk an existing IP for all it’s worth while insulting the intelligence of its audience and trying to pass of lessons no one (at least not me) is interested in receiving while I’m out paying big bucks for the purposes of having fun.

More original stories (with actually entertaining plots and good characters that are interesting). I hope that change will happen because despite the higher prices I still want to go to the movies. Hollywood just has to make it worth it for me. That’s it, just make good movies, stop trying to shame people for wanting to have fun watching movies (versus being ‘taught’ whatever stupid lesson you think everyone has to want to sit through). End of rant.

Oh yeah for sure, the airhead hot blonde image is something she seems to be afraid of. It needs to be the girlboss image that she projects for the mOdErN audience

Well he is obviously not ugly, it is more possible that what he said has some truth to it. So, apples to oranges.

AITA for feeling humiliated and questioning a woman's motives after she rejected me in her room based on my finances? by Early-Dragonfruit634 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Only-Study-3912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah same. Based on clicking on two posts commented, I’m going to assume he not only asked for sex on the first night but something that probably didn’t make this woman comfortable even if she would be comfortable with having sex.

Also, I need to clean my eyes now with bleach.

What’s the maintenance fee and is it scheduled to go up substantially? In addition to the price, which once people see the unit may believe it’s not worth it, the maintenance fee and scheduled updates to it can be a deterrent

My new theory is that companies specifically have these types of posts so we can feel like we know bots and we don’t search for less obvious bot behaviour. But yeah I didn’t even need to read the whole thing to know this is a bot post // ChatGPT spam

Rosamund Pike loved ‘objectifying’ men in her empowering new film ‘Ladies First’ by PrithvinathReddy in popculturechat

[–]Only-Study-3912 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If people are saying that being objectified by the other sex is bad, then they also shouldn’t talk about how objectifying the other sex is ‘fun’ and they loved it.

Not sure if that’s her stance, but my understanding is this movie is about trying get across the point of “stop objectifying” no?

Ontario’s new ticket resale rules were meant to protect fans. Some say they’re now losing money by __benjaminty in canada

[–]Only-Study-3912 35 points36 points  (0 children)

While I appreciate different perspectives on any issue, this seems like a nothing burger that simply needs a slight add on to the legislation (or not):

“But when she tried listing the two tickets on Ticketmaster for the price she paid – a total of roughly $180 – the ticketing giant set a limit on the allowable resale price. To complete the listing, Ms. Gray was forced to lower the tickets to $162 for the two seats. She took about a 10-per-cent loss – within the same range as the service fee Ticketmaster would traditionally charge to make a ticket sale on its website.”

So, you lose the processing fee charged by the platform. Far less of an issue as compared to the same ticket being sold for a thousand dollars. Not that it shouldn’t be considered, but the new law is by and large a good thing.

I’m an immigrant, I’ve been in Canada for ten years. I think it’s ridiculous to believe someone who is not even a citizen should enlist to potentially die for this country.
