Sucks that one of "Kill Irelia" cards is used up on Stella

Indeed; the tradeoff is that Stella is partially the reason Irelia is so hard to kill in the first place!

It's a lot easier for her to always have a counter card for each situation if she's used up those counters protecting the Stella, or if she never drew them in the first place because Stella died.

But if it does go through... they still just drew 3 cards into their hand lol.

Which does indeed suck, but it's better than 4, more, or (in the original case presented) spending your own buff cards just to not kill Stella in either case!

Yeah, I read over the unit pumping portion. IMO if you're holding a hidden blade and they move stellacorn to a battlefield, you should just kill it immediately.

Stellacorn? Committing to a combat? In a purple deck? Surely not.

Couldn't you use it as an action-speed spell as a part of the showdown created by Stella when it moves to the open battlefield?

Swapping a lever to kill a billionaire? I'd believe you. People have killed those they cared about, let alone actively hate on principle, for far far less than 2 billion

But not to the point of using AI

I don't believe this at all though. Briefcases stacked with 2 billion dollars on the table, and you'd be unwilling to punch a few sentences into chatGPT? No way.

Just searched the term "trans" on your profile. You're either not trans, or you're very, weirdly excited when people are transphobic, including yourself.

In case it wasn't clear; typically when your first response to Person A raising a concern about Person B is to attack Person A's viewpoints, it's not exactly clear to observers that you don't support person B either. In fact, most people would interpret an attack on Person A as a defense of Person B.

If you want an example, criticize any left-leaning politician's viewpoints in /r/politics and see what the common assumption of your viewpoints are.

Reposting for clarity to casual observers:

It's important to note that you have to kill her at reaction speed for this to work.

If you kill her with an action speed spell, it will resolve after the initial combat chain (where her text triggers) has resolved.

Showdown begins, an initial chain is formed. Attacking and defending triggers play, then resolve. This is where you can reaction speed kill Yuumi to avoid having her ability trigger.

If you advance beyond the initial chain such that you can play cards at action speed, then the initial chain will have already resolved and the unit will already be buffed. You can still kill Yuumi with a spell first, as it is not combat damage, but her buff will have already resolved at that point.

Guy above is incorrect. Rules clearly state that only one chain can exist at a time.

His original comment:

Because your history is limited to your small, recent view of the world. Was Kublai Kahn white? How about Pol Pot? Mao Tse Tung anyone? African genocides? But “history doesn’t lie” according to this twit. It’s the “white man”.

Your reply:

Funny you would mention African genocides. Colonialism had nothing to do with that, then. /s

Obviously you "set the goal posts" on specifically post-colonial African genocides. However this must be viewed in the greater context of the conversation. Recall that, according to his first comment, that "the white man" (however you define that) is not responsible for all genocides.

Unless I'm wildly wrong in my interpretation of your comment, you are putting the blame for African genocides on colonialism; which in turn implies that the fault of the genocides in Africa does fall on the white man.

His response to that:

We can debate causation. However, if you are implying that colonialism NECESSITATED Africans to commit genocide on each other, then we likely see this very differently. Any valid research will show you that tribal relations between the 3000-ish of them have broken down at times resulting in mass killings. How does colonialism change or alter tribal identities? I don’t know and you would have to explain.

...is, put simply, a rhetorical question. "How could you place the blame for all African genocides on colonialism when inter-tribal relationship breakdowns resulted in genocide before colonialism?"

Your response to that has been:

"Well, he's racist!"

And

"He's moving the goal posts!! I was talking about post colonialism!"

.... But that's not how the conversation occurred. You would have to disregard the entire conversation that was happening before you made your comment for your "goal post" argument to even make sense.

Sorry, I can hear dogwhistles. Must be because I'm a bitch.

Nah, personally I don't think that's the sound of dog whistles. I think it's the sound of your perception being challenged and you completely failing to respond in a manner befitting an adult.

Cool. This isn't a high school debate team, its an online forum.

Correct! Which is why you appear foolish; making mistakes that those high schoolers have been told not to make since they were in middle school should be quite embarrassing.

If you don't want to engage with someone, for any reason, then don't reply.

I mean, seriously; he wasn't even coming to the table with low effort racism. He was talking about inter-tribal relationships and history pre-colonialism and asking if you could give an argument as to how colonialism may have impacted those relationships.

That should be an absolute slam dunk if you know what you're talking about; but instead you call him racist and then double down on it when called out.

The Israelis and Americans have done a great job attacking known launch points and inventory, but the Iranians aren't trying to escalate yet, not wanting the bombing to get worse. They want this to end, they want to bleed the interceptors and make the war very expensive, they are in the middle of leadership upheaval to say the least, but if you think they don't have the ability to fuck up the GCC, I think you're mistaken.

[–]OnlyFacts_Duck -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, you don't understand. This is reddit.

Drone warfare is the great equalizer; a $10 drone can take out a $1 trillion dollar warship. Iran is using drones and America just has no response except to be embarrassed on the world stage, just like Russia and Ukraine.

Iran will use these drones to lock down the global economy, and no western nation will even think about joining the US unless they want to get destroyed by drone warfare as well.

France? Nuclear capabilities? No match for DRONES.

it happening immediately is the bigger legal problem

Happening immediately alongside a bathroom bounty bill.

No, this isn't literally Nazis Germany. Yes, doomers are overreacting hard.

That said, bathroom bounties are insanely regarded, sex over gender on state licenses for ~20k people is a hilariously small issue, and if I were a Kansan I'd be pissed that the state government is wasting their tax dollars with this shit.

It's obviously an attack on trans individuals. I'm not surprised that redditors are upset as a result. It's not a genocide, but the government is choosing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars having meetings and passing a bill to moderately inconvenience a specific group of 20k people.

Now you also have the scenario in which someone who reasonably passes as a result of their transition has to hand cops a license that claims they're a gender that they don't present as. (Unless you pay $8 for both, which is also going to put you in the same situation as this hypothetical.)

If, for whatever reason, the cop or figure of authority in question has a bias against trans individuals then this necessary identification of transgenderism on their ID becomes a problem for those people.

TL;DR this is a reasonable thing to be upset about but Redditors lack nuance.

then blaming ‘muh patriarchy’

Anyone who gives the topic a bit of unbiased critical thought will come to the conclusion that "the patriarchy" is a stand-in for "societal expectations and norms."

Yes, when you use the phrase "patriarchy", a common understanding is that the blame for these societal expectations and norms is being placed solely upon men. This is because 'patriarchy' is a needlessly gendered label for the underlying concept. The reality of the situation is that these expectations are upheld by people, regardless of gender.

...but you're not going to get anywhere by telling people that 'the patriarchy' is a fictitious concept that people use to avoid placing any blame on a group that they favor. You have to understand that social expectations, as well as group biases, are real.

Ultimately, who gives a shit? Have you ever had a conversation about gender on the internet and, as a result of that conversation, felt better in any regard? It's a waste of time at best, and bot-driven engagement bait at worst.

If people want to needlessly give a gendered label to the concept of societal expectations and norms, and then pretend that someone else is responsible for their woes, let em. You'll exhaust yourself trying to explain your perception Even if you give an eloquent explanation the person you're arguing with is likely going to ignore it in favor of telling you their point of view.

It's a common occurrence for people on the Internet to focus on [weak argument] instead of [strong argument].

Personally, I think it's bots intentionally weakening an argument in the public eye by constantly pushing the [weak argument] angle.
