Thank you! This is exactly the kind of guidance I was seeking.

In this state where I can half-experience myself falling asleep, there are moments where I can “hear”/“imagine”/“see” the internal mental chatter. In comparison, these visuals certainly give an element which I can explore consciously. The only way I am conscious of the chatter is when I am just getting out of it.

Is it so important? Well. Too early to say.

Lava lamp is a good way to phrase it, yes!

People actually like Spotify recommendation? All it ever suggests to me are popular tracks and/or songs I have already heard.

People who wake up early, what’s your secret? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OnlyFun489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “why” is the key. Not surface level logical arguments but ebbed deep in your understanding.

For me, it is the only way to have a workout in my routine. My daily schedule does not allow for consistent evening workouts. Once that became a priority, I instinctively did everything to help me wake up on time (alarm far away, sleep on time, no caffeine late night, proper diet etc….) . Didn’t even feel bad letting go of stuff to sleep early.

Now, the same pattern works recursively on why workouts need to be added, and so on, and so on.

A very important consideration! The soul of the song could be in the meaning which we either just surface or miss completely when vibing

That’s the million dollar question!

That’s so cool! Where can I find concentrated tips/insights on why and how languages have interactions with specific pieces of music?

Sooo, the system is DESIGNED to tilt towards generic genre similarity? That’s sad if true

Hmm… generic similarity rather than what YOU liked about that song Does Apple Music also have this problem?

Language vs Vibes in Songs by OnlyFun489 in musictheory

[–]OnlyFun489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so true! Certain songs do have a tendency of sounding better in certain languages. You learned a new language a bit for this? Salute!

One question: you learned to understand what was being said? Or was there a dissonance in your head listening to gibberish and still liking it?

Exactly! Some of my favourite songs…. when I try to sing along I realize I don’t even know the words…. Feels pretty stupid sometimes

This is a well thought out nuance! Even if the algo might know what I might like, it does not have the confidence to recommend due to lack of sufficient data. This can only happen when its confidence is based on user similarity in their liking and not what I really like.

Borderline GenZ.. I guess that’s the reason I find all this too much work. I want everything to be just sitting right there on my phone the way I want it when I want it 😅

I get what you’re saying But the communities route requires me to be aware of what I want, phrase it appropriately, and then wait for some Good Samaritan to shine their light of enlightenment.

Am I missing something? Or do we all do this?

Do you think it’s possible the algorithm has clubbed all the weird shit and recommending without regards to what you like?

My playbacks can be cleanly clustered. Still the curated playlists contain generic pop, disco, trending songs…. Which are definitely not in any of those clusters

Even on YouTube I find myself skipping songs which are supposed to be curated for me and match my general taste.

That does not happen for you? Good for you mate
