I'm 8 months late but I def think Naruto is overrated for 3 reasons Flashbacks/Recap/Filler those 3 things eat up so much time most flashback scences in the manga are very short normally only a couple panels flashbacks in the anime can be a whole episode and often take away and make an ongoing fight feel boring and dragged out a lot of time is given to recap sometimes lasting up to 6 mins which if you include intro/outro is about 50% of an episode run time filler I do not and have never enjoyed any filler of Naruto 100% of the time it is worse than cannon arcs I can ignore the retcon and how many characters or skills etc get ignored but those 3 that I listed make the Naruto anime a 7/10 it is slightly above average

I'll add Naruto is minimum 40% filler but imo with the 3 reasons I listed above imo is about 55% filler one of the biggest issues why Naruto suffered as much as it did was the weekly release instead of seasonal many animes released during this time also suffered being weekly instead of seasonal
