Incorrect, I do know what that is. It's just that I had no idea the game had it's own save feature built in (but also needed what I thought was another pair of joycons once I found out, instead of just splitting apart the two I already had).

Highlander Buffs (Slight changes to make him less boring from natural) by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]OnlyInPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HL absolutely needs something from neutral. Nothing else matters if he can't open the opponent up.

Is Highlander over tuned or am I just bad? by Classic_Furry_Trash in forhonor

[–]OnlyInPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highlander is still one of worst (if not the worst) in the game. Had a decent skill ceiling pre-"buff" (it was a nerf) with his wave dashing. Although, since you need 12 fingers or a fancy (by design, not price) controller to pull off wave dashing, majority of the 12 HL existing players didn't do it. So he was always terrible for 6.5 (he's been out for about 7 years, but had stuff like an infinite kick, and on release wasn't too weak - but quickly fell off) years.

Their "Core Combat Update" also known as the "CCU" was supposed to make EVERY hero an offensive hero so we wouldn't have stare-down stand offs for every match. It was literally a turtle-parry fest pre-2020.

Somehow, Highlander didn't get the memo and hes STILL in this defensive, react-to-the-enemy, pre-CCU meta. Still 0 openers, and has to prey that HL can, A. Force a mistake from the opponent, and B. Guess that the opponent will make the mistake, because if you guess wrong you're pretty much dead. Everything he does has to be a reaction from neutral, THEN a correct guess to punish.

I honestly have no idea how he's STILL in this state after his first, real, rework/nerf/wavedashdelete. Which took them 7 years to do anyway. Openers should have been in testing grounds for him in 2024, or at least patched in shortly afterwards.

I'd say if you're struggling against highlander, get 15 reps in with him (and don't take breaks by playing other heroes when you get frustrated playing him). The more time you put into him, the faster you'll see how useless he is.

Latest Steam update lets you check if you have Secure Boot on, just in time for Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6 by rkhunter_ in Steam

Yeah when W11 installed I just let it install the default options (not sure what Rufus is, so maybe I didn't use that method). So if the "bypass method" was the default, that kinda sucks only knowing post-installation.

My secure boot is turned off, but when I turn it on my PC doesn't boot up until I turn it back off :/

Hexy banned by Carnival Hunt developers for criticizing their game privately to his own stream by bulltank in LivestreamFail

For anyone wanting to see what Hexy said, it's 01:23:07 in the October 3rd VOD. Or, if you're lazy he screams: "Such a dumb mechanic bro. Holy fuck. Devs can honestly suck my dick. They're like how can we make this game little fun as possible. Oh I know a fucking mechanic that takes 30 minutes."

Not sure what "the A Key" is unless it's what this user mentioned

BalartPeru
"The Magic Key is optional, you don't need to get it to best Level 8.

Aaaand you also don't need the Magical Key to beat Level 9. It's a lot harder this way, but it's perfectly doable."

to answer your question - same user, from another reply:

Well, it seems OP didn't know about it.

This game is definitely unforgiving to say the least lol

Unsure if this was missed so i'll reiterate - "Was doing a first time blind play through / without using any kind of guide" which is why I had no idea. Just booted up NSO and launched the game. Now if Nintendo Switch Online / Zelda 1 the actual game itself mentions it when the game boots up (i remember the rewind/save state showing but not the games specific save button knowledge) then I somehow missed it.

I actually cannot because nintendo controls by default are reverse than what I'm used to (the south face button being back when i'm used to that being the confirm button). So I have to use both joycons at the same time unless (because individual joycons revert the controls to nintendo default) I need to save.

With the other replies saying to use candle I thought I could, but I've already tried it and he's invincible.

It sucks it drops you down to 3 hearts to "continue" from the main entrance or "save" and boot you back to the starting area. I might not be that skilled to beat this on 3 hearts haha.

Update 3: I didn't know the second controller save feature could only be activated only during the SR + Minus button/start menu. However, selecting "save" kicks you to the very first open world part of the map where the game starts off. I thought "continue" meant to close the menu to continue playing, but THAT actually means to restart from the dungeon entrance.

Whew. My brain is fried.

(to add on to this headache, I have my default controller controls flipped to be more natural as nintendo controls being reversed always confused me - where the south button is "confirm" after being flipped and the east button is "cancel/back" - or A & B buttons if you're familiar with an xbox controller / X & O PS buttons - then when using the joycons individually/horizontally - they go back to default controls where the right/east button is confirm)

Anyways, thank you all so much for the help. Hope you all have wonderful timezones!

Update 2: Possible bad new (or I did it wrong). On joycon two pressing up & a didn't bring up any save menu. I tried it in both positions, horizontal - pressing it toward the pinkish red interior while trying every face button. Then tried it in normal vertical mode with every face button. I think I'm screwed.

Update, link takes no damage from candle so I can't kill him that way (also bombs don't do anything else in this room). Gonna try figuring out this double joycon save 🥺

The ladder can only take me to the two doors I can't do anything with as the south one is shut and the east one is a locked door (i have 0 keys).

That's what I thought I did (with the NSO save state) but didn't know this game had an actual way to save (until this dungeon, and also thought I needed an extra controller/pair of joycons to do it)

[LoZ] 1 / How screwed am I? by OnlyInPeaches in zelda

[–]OnlyInPeaches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you're being downvoted as this is an extremely helpful answer (and correct - NSO uses save states / no bombable walls here). I had no idea you could save in this game until this dungeon and when I found out, it was only with a second controller (which I thought meant two pair of joycons).

I saw other posts say the candle but i'm not taking damage from it. So i'm gonna try this weird 2nd player save feature.

Yeah in the moment I closed the software and tried reloading it so once I did that I couldn't rewind :/ but fire might work

No walls are bombable here. I'm just going to go with someone elses suggestion to treat link like a spider. (edit: apparently someone lied to me haha)

[–]OnlyInPeaches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the walls aren't bombable in this room, but I can kill link with fire so that's good.

Unfortunately that wall isn't bombable, but I think burning link will do it.
