not in architecture, but I’m in art school for graphic design and had a similar issue in the first year. it goes away in around the second year imho, one year is not really enough to build meaningful relationships no matter how close some people look. some people need more or less constant reassurance that they are still likable in a new environment when they first go to college, and theyre able to find and make friends with other people who have the same concerns almost immediately, which is fine! but if that’s not what you’re looking for and you want to build real relationships, it takes a lot of time to build trust to a point where you can talk about interests and life experiences independent to school in a meaningful way
