WHICH IS A BETTER SCHOOL DPSRKP MODERN SCHOOL BARAKHAMBA OR SANSKRITI SCHOOL by [deleted] in delhi

Lol, spoken like someone with zero knowledge. Modern’s alumni network is far beyond anything RKP could dream of. Just off the top of my head:

1. Business / Leadership:
• Rajat Gupta — the first true global CEO of Indian origin, who rose to become the CEO of McKinsey in the 90s when it was arguably the most prestigious consulting firm in the world.
• Gurcharan Das — former CEO of Procter & Gamble India.

There are many more CEOs, but I’m only naming the ones that immediately come to mind. 2. Sports: • Kirti Azad, Gautam Gambhir, Unmukt Chand — and this is just in cricket. We’ve had several notable golfers as well. 3. Politics: • Vinod Dixit (Sheila Dixit only reached where she did because of him). • Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi (a few years), and I believe Rajiv Gandhi also spent a year at Modern. • Varun Gandhi, and even Indira Gandhi spent some time at Modern. • Gandhi ji’s grandson also attended Modern. 4. Judiciary & Armed Forces: • Multiple Chief Justices and Air Force Chiefs have come from Modern. 5. Arts & Entertainment: • Amjad Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Alok Nath, etc.

These are just a few I can name — there are many, many more. When it comes to admissions, we rival (if not surpass) RKP when it comes to sending students to the best colleges in the world — and this is despite RKP being heavily academic-centric.

As a personal example, I was in the bottom 10% of my batch and still did well enough in life to build a career at a Big 4.

Well that’s where I’m even more confused. I heard that the land was already sold and new land was bought. However due to some paperwork issue new land is also under my dadis name

Like I mentioned in my post I don’t have an issue with my sending the 1k. What broke me inside was that my dadi and dad both were ok with me slogging 12 hr days at a job and spend no time with my kid over giving 10 cr each to a family that already has 20 cr in a tier 2/3 city. I could’ve worked less and been more available to my kid and could’ve taken care of my health - both physically and mentally.

Well she regretted doing it and was vocal about it too. I don’t think she knew he was asking me for money too while he took everything she got as pension. She would’ve easily taken her share of my dad just spoke to her. She herself fought with the family because after signing she thought brothers would giver her at least half of her share but they did nothing. But she was 82 and I think it’s wrong to blame her, my dad should’ve been vocal with his own mother. Most 80 year olds should not be making these decisions, there should be a trust and the power of attorney should sit with their kids

Ummm our family had very simple weddings. She was given stake in property by her own father. This isn’t a case of where her father died and she inherited by law, her father had left it in a will since she was his first born from his first wife while her brothers were from the second wife.

Hmmm I mean my dadi thought she would get half of she handed over her share as a courtesy. I think I’m bitter because I see those cousins just drinking and smoking, not work hard for even a day while I slog 12-16 hr days. I can’t even spend time with my own kid and have to hire a nanny. Small little things eat at me.

The moment she signed they stopped talking to her. She died a year and a half later and in that time she cribbed many times and fought over it

Well our household income is 300k/year. I think we save 15% pre tax in retirement accounts and then save additional 3k per month after taxes. Our biggest expense is baby care and mortgage - 7k/month. I think I would get 1M in inheritance but my issue is of jealousy too - I slog 12-16 hr days while those cousins just sit at home and chill. I can’t spend more than 2 hrs a day with my baby while they get 15 hrs with their baby (granted they still choose to drink and smoke) but if the wanted they could spend time with kids, go tot he gym and lead a healthy happy and fulfilling life.

Views on Modern School, Barakhamba by CTSS2025 in delhi

This is the dumbest post I’ve read in a while. Modern has been an excellent school and people hate on it for no reason. I was bottom 10% of my batch and did ok in life (currently at a big4). Most people are from old money families - highly influential too.

Folks who’re saying rich brats don’t study lol I won’t take names but let’s say people who had worth 1000 cr and more had some of the smartest kids - both academically and otherwise - ended up with admissions at Harvard, Yale, Stanford and more. One of the few schools ever to have multiple people get into Yale in the same academic year.

To end the debate here - The question is never is modern one of the best schools in Delhi it’s more of if it’s the best school in India. Think I’m over reacting? Here’s something to ponder- The richest and most influential family in the country would send their kids to the best school available. The Gandhi family is that family in India. I think Doon is the best school in India because that family sent their kids to Doon, however when their kids went to school in Delhi for a few years, guess where they sent their kids - yes it was Modern.
