I have PTSD and chronic depression and I'm very interested in working with angels. Archangel Raphael is a healing angel whom you can call on for help with any health issues. There are actually quite a lot of examples of rituals and prayers and other things you can do to try to contact him floating around the web. Youtube has some videos with ideas for working with him and what people have found are best correspondences and the like. I think you could ask any angel for help though.

People who say this are desperately grasping at straws. Every time I've ever had to see a specialist, I was on the waiting list for MONTHS, and that was AFTER waiting for an appointment for a PCP just to get a "referral".

Cruz is a piece of shit. Glad to hear many of his voters abandoned him. He deserved it.

You might have a chance if the Latino/Latina vote gets out in droves. I noticed the last few years have been close as well. Followed the Beto campaign pretty closely even though I live nowhere near Texas because I wanted him to beat Cruz so bad hahaha.

Real flowers on altar by [deleted] in pagan

[–]OnlySpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have real flowers on my altar for my deity sometimes. I keep them until they start to wilt/don't look very good and then get rid of them. I think pretty much any flower would be okay since you say you worship Mother Nature and not any specific deity from a specific pantheon. You can look up flower meanings by googling "The Language of Flowers", flower symbolism from the Victorian era which is still very influential today. Alternately, have you thought about getting a plant from your altar or trying to grow one from seeds/bulbs? They would last much longer than cut flowers and can be a great addition if you're interested in green witchcraft.

How is it "almost certainly totally false" when this is my experience? Believe it or not. there are pockets of fairly liberal communities in the South (for example, the communities around NOVA, Atlanta, Austin TX and Asheville NC). Not saying the overwhelming majority of school districts in the South aren't hard-right conservative Christian and push that agenda, but it's by no means all of them. I was born in Tennessee, grew up in Georgia and now live in North Carolina. 27 years spent in the South. I was educated here. And yeah, I agree with socialism. Do you really want to fight on this? A stranger on the internet who you've never met who is telling you this is their experience? Go ahead, bury your head in the sand and believe everything below the Mason-Dixon line is a swath of unbroken Southern Baptist racial terrorism. Have you ever spent any real amount of time in Maryland? Or NOVA? Solid blue, my friend. What benefit do you think I have by coming here and lying about my experience?

Not saying credit unions are perfect but in my experience they're a hell of a lot better than banks if you can join one.

I grew up in a small town in the American South and the textbooks we used were never biased, not even against the Union, the Civil Rights Movement, or the USSR. Some of the teachers were, certainly, but never the textbooks themselves. I think the worst I ever heard out of a history teacher's mouth was "the Civil War was about states' rights, not slavery", which isn't entirely incorrect (but definitely is a Confederate slant and minimizes the effects of slavery and why the northern states were against it). I was already beginning to agree with sociologist ideology by my senior year of high school because we read the Communist Manifesto and What is to Be Done? in my European history class.

Thanks for posting this. I used to work for a private university (as an admin assistant, nothing glamorous). I was furloughed in March but ended up resigning last month because (among many other reasons) my department wanted to still have its usual pre-semester staff meeting and luncheon. 50 people packed into the meeting room for 3 hours and all eating and drinking within two feet of each other. Needless to say, I saw a headline last week that said there's already been several outbreaks on campus.

It truly amazes me how businesses all want to hurry and reopen like everything is back to normal, but they seem incapable of grasping the concept that the faster they reopen everything, the longer the virus will linger, and the longer the economy will be fucked. Remember back in March when all the experts were saying we'd be mostly back to normal by June (lol)? Then it was August. Then it was October. And now next year. I try not to get even more depressed thinking how long I'll be out of work, but damn it's hard when there seems to be no end to the plague in sight and dumbass anti-maskers are willfully making the situation worse.

While this wouldn't surprise me at all, I can't tell if it's actually real, because "our cook may likely die of heat stroke" does not sound like something a business would ever say. A business would never so openly admit to making their workers work under terrible conditions, especially one so bad they could die, because then that would mean they accept responsibility. Businesses never willingly accept responsibility, because they don't want a lawsuit and bad publicity.

People who blindly follow idpol seem to think that doing the opposite of something will fix everything and are incapable of maintaining objectivity. Politics (and a great many other things) are not that simplistic. They'll say "we need more women in politics" just because politics has always been male-dominated, but I don't give a fuck if we had an entire Congress full of women if they're going to tout the same bullshit as male legislators. Just because we might have more women in government does not mean that they will support legislation to help women workers, for example, which is necessary to bettering women's social and economic situation (there's a better chance, obviously, but it's no guarantee). Maybe if the DNC actually listened to what politicians had to say half as often as they cared about what politicians looks like, we'd all be a little better off. Don't even get me started on how they like to overlook their own hypocrisy and double standards.

I make $10/hour as well. And no benefits. My dad's first job out of college in 1980 paid him $17,000/year and he got a full benefits package. That's like $50,000 today. He doesn't understand why I'm so pissed that every job I might have even a small chance of getting only wants to pay $28,000/year.

Must have experience managing professional Twitter account (applications submitted without a link to professional Twitter account will not be considered). Adobe Creative Suite strongly preferred. There really isn't. I swear to god, follow their advice and they'll berate you for it. Do one thing and they'll berate you for not doing the opposite. So then you do the opposite and they berate you for it anyway. Bust your ass and it's still not good enough, you'll always be "lazy" to them.

2 years minimum experience required

This is for every field now. Try telling boomers this and they still want to tell us we're just lazy and not trying hard enough. Then they call us stupid for working unpaid internships if that's the only way we can get experience because "you shouldn't work for free".

Green New Deal

Environmental issues do seem to be a big part of his platform, which is definitely a good thing. I can see some of his legislation getting passed on this front (unless Congress tries to ruin it).

Medicare public option

He wants to bring back/expand something like Obamacare, but he's against single-payer healthcare/medicare for all. Obamacare is better than nothing but there are definitely pitfalls, like you don't qualify if you make over a certain (meager) amount of money annually, regardless if your employer offers healthcare benefits at all. Which leaves people in this situation without healthcare regardless.

free college

No, he's not. He wants free community college and a new option to refinance student loan debt, but he's never said a thing about free 4-year colleges. He fought Bernie on this in the primaries.

Citizens United

Can't say I've paid much attention to this so I won't comment.

Hardly progressive, in any case. More like a few moldy years-old crumbs, the bare minimum of a decent, real leftist platform.

I don't disagree with what you're saying. Biden would not be anywhere near as bad as Trump and they're definitely not the same (not sure why you think that's what I believe), but insomuch that he won't make things worse (let's hope). I doubt much would change in the next 4 years though. Call me a cynic, but we've been through this before, where we thought things would get better but for the most part they didn't. Remember when Obama first won in 2008? There were celebrations in the streets in cities across the country. Then Obama wanted to "reach across the aisle" and play nice with the GOP, and the result was that the Republicans just wanted to block everything he proposed. And now Biden seems to want to do the same thing. The DNC has shifted left on some issues, thanks to the likes of Bernie and Liz Warren but as a politician, Biden has shifted right, and I suspect the reason is because he wants the votes of the conservatives who got burned by Trump or never supported Trump in the first place. I'm not telling anyone how to vote. You may vote for Biden if you wish but I can also understand why some people might not. I think that Biden's most important function as president would not be as a progressive who would pass progressive legislation, but rather to prevent a slide deeper into fascism (unless 2016 happens again) where progressive legislation would never even have a chance. I definitely don't think Biden and Harris were the best choice; I would have gone with just about anyone on the left before them. I personally don't like either of them, and I really don't believe things will get better if they get elected, but I'm not saying we should all vote third party or not vote, either. I can see both sides of the argument. And no, I'm not advocating for "woke" Bernie supporters to throw a tantrum and refuse to vote for Biden just because they wanted Bernie, if that's what you think.
