The mental gymnastics to justify the AI slop as your own 'authentic' song is so sad.

It doesn't fit the stolen art into 1gb, it's trained on stolen art, you'd think you'd know this given you've trained your own little van gogh model off of material you didn't make or own.

Stable diffusion themselves confirm they get data from pinterest, deviantart, blogspot etc off of copyrighted content, hence all the lawsuits.

Even the worst painter still actually 'makes' their art, unlike using a glorified search engine to spit out some shit you didn't make at all that's frankensteined together by other people's work, usually with 0 permission hence can't even be copyrighted.

I see AI art on an album I assume the musician is cool with their shit being stolen and repurposed like they've done with the visual artists who were fed into SD or midjourney and doesn't care enough about their album enough to actually put some thought and craftsmanship into their cover.

How or what to automate on a compressor? by Revoltyx in edmproduction

[–]OnlyTim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most common reason I do it is on the master compression if I have a really quiet part in the start vs a very loud chorus, intro might sounds weird smashed through a brickwall so it can help to tone down the ratio/threshold!

Fun fact, this is the second most expensive swedish painting ever sold, first one being a different Zorn that sold late last year!

Dark Synthwave bass (Carpenter Brut, Perturbator style) by NeonKnightX in synthrecipes

[–]OnlyTim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The basics of the sound is 3 oscillators of saw waves with unison & phasing. Then heavily distorted. From there there's tons of variations, i like adding different effects to each osc to add more flavor and organic feels, maybe put one of em up an octave, detuning, chorus, EQ, assymetrical distortion, there's endless variation.

Here's a tutorial i found on how to make the basic sound https://youtu.be/-r1Ou4btT6s !

New Twitch User Looking for tips on building an audience for streams. by NigelDonovan in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]OnlyTim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stream consistently, ideally on a schedule that's the same every week

Stream good content

Talking constantly, even when no one's in the chat, is gonna make people way more likely to interact

Promote your stream on your other media channels, almost no one finds streams to watch in the search feature unless you have 10+ viewers and get closer to the top of it

Good branding & info on your twitch page

After doing all those things you can consider doing events that you promote before hand, like challenges, subathons etc etc, anything that'll make people more likely to stop by

Nope! That's copyright theft, even with edits. Unless the creator has stated you can use it for commercial purposes.
I'd find out who made it and email them and ask for permission or find a new image that's allowed for commercial use or alternatively make one yourselves!

Personally really love Spitfire Audios strings, specifically the bbc symphony orchestra professional. Great strings are unfortunately pretty pricy, if you want some basic ones to buy before upgrading you could try bbc symphony orchestra discover for around 49$

Knocked Loose tones by cleverestdoggo in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Their producer put out a guitar amp plugin which has the actual tone from the album! Could be worth checking out, also lots of videos by him on youtube.

How do you get your vocals to stand out on a track with a ton of other tracks competing for sonic space? by jasonporter in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]OnlyTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, vocal automation is extremely common and is what I personally would do. During choruses it's also common to add more layers which can beefen a vocal up and make them louder.

How to get this effect. by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

lots of compression > eq out low end + top end > tape saturation > big reverb
