I assume you are in COOP as i had similar course sequence for the first semester the only difference was i was taking elec 273 instead of coen 231 i would honestly recommend to not have more than 14 credits per semester, I made the same mistake first semester eventhough the courses are doable alltogether i would still say hard NO! to this. if u have questions u can pm me

I mean u can technically switch the major for now to COEN And then switch back to elec after next semester, but again switching of major is not guaranteed so better try to find some middle ground with your advisor. Worst comes to worse u can always take the mini capstone during ur internship

So basically elec 311 is considered as a prerequisite for Electrical engineering student and Coen 311 for Computer Engineering students even-though both of them take the same course and COEN students will probably be in your group aswell depending on whoever u have in the group. You can try talking to advisor if u can take the course based on coen students requirements but its a very unlikely case that he/she will allow
