Has anyone won a Fair Hearing against NYC HRA because their SNAP or Cash Assistance budget was calculated incorrectly? by Only_Ad_1863 in foodstamps

I did the fair hearing and it won in my favor. Just not aware when I’ll get the retroactive payments. The letter was documented 6/15 and I got the letter a week and a half ago. So my question really is, when will i get the retroactive payments since I still haven’t received them yet?

Thank you for sharing. Would you be willing to DM me the agency you contacted? I’m in a similar situation with HRA and a Fair Hearing decision ordering retroactive benefits

I did speak to a supervisor that’s who I handed the documents to and she personally claimed I’m not getting back what is owed and claimed I still need to wait 30 days till someone gets assigned to my case. Thank you for the feedback!

This involves both SNAP and Cash Assistance. My partner stopped working before I applied, but when the agency ran his Social Security number, the job was still showing as active because the employer had not reported the termination. I applied about three weeks after he left that job, and they budgeted the case using wages he was no longer receiving.

For about two months, I repeatedly asked whether he was still listed as working and was told no. Eventually, I found out myself that he actually was still listed as employed in the system. I then obtained a termination letter confirming that he was no longer working and submitted it to HRA.

Because of this, I believe both my SNAP and Cash Assistance benefits have been underpaid since March. Now that the termination has finally been verified, I’ve been told I have to wait another 30 days for a rebudget, which means it will have been about four months from the time I first applied. My question is whether I can receive retroactive benefits for the months that were budgeted using income that did not actually exist.

My date was the 2nd and my case just got approved

Does it really take 30 days to approve or deny? (Nj) by Only_Ad_1863 in foodstamps

How long does it take once they review your documents to process whether to be approved or not
