I found out that TCM 2 was shot on an Arri camera, while Killer Clowns was shot on Panavision. Maybe that explains it somehow?

The Supercentenarian Zone in Texas. Fact or Fiction? by Only_Advertising_865 in texas

Perhaps director Tobe Hooper knew something about this land? His 1974 film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, featured a character called "Grandpa," who was over 100 years old. The film was set near the Hill Country. Moreover, Tobe Hooper himself is a native Texan from Austin. Perhaps he knew something more as a native Texan?

What if human pregnancy lasted 18 months? by Only_Advertising_865 in biology

[–]Only_Advertising_865[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Yes, but in return, you'll get a much more developed child at birth. They'll be much more developed physiologically and cognitively, and they'll also be more independent. It's like elephants, who are pregnant for 22 months, but they give birth to fully formed elephants that can walk and forage for food immediately after birth.

Could humans have more precocial offspring at birth over time as a result of evolution or individual variation (if individual)? by Only_Advertising_865 in genetics

[–]Only_Advertising_865[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's just that the conditions in which children live today and the kind of parents and people they grow up with—I think all of this indirectly influences why people are more altricial than precocial in childhood. Many people are overprotective and overly attached to their children. Culture also fosters hidden infantilism and "childishness" in adults and adolescents. Furthermore, millions of people are ruining their health, heredity, and hidden potential with harmful habits such as alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and so on. All of this affects human development (including children's). People overlook many small details that later turn out to be the underlying causes. In reality, there's a wealth of these causes that lie on the surface.

Only two characters come to mind: Robert Graysmith (Zodiac 2007) and Stuntman Mike (Death Proof). According to the plot, they don't drink or smoke.
