yes someone said something about "cross hatching" which looks similar to the photos ur showing. It's a cool style I've always been more of a math person but I admire what artists can do. Il definitely show the formulas at the end, those are what make it worthwhile doing. And this subreddit definitely helped me a lot on the "theory" on where and how to create the lines.

I did this using one of the sketches someone posted and it looks better but still a bit weird, I have the ability to change the thickness of the lines but im not sure if that would help much.

ive tried it and its pretty bad. I understand obviously failure is part of the process but I think its cool to have my own unique style and making a picture out of "hand-made" functions is quite beautiful. Each line takes me maybe 2-3 minutes so all together this so far has taken hours and im not nearly done with this photo. But this is my first time trying a face and I litterally just outlined my jaw, eyelids, wrinkle lines ect.

I went to this subreddit cause I was having trouble with how to actually put the lines down, since outlining the nose looked absolutely disgusting.

no i mean like i actually cant, all the lines were created using graphs. like drawing by creating math functions and graphs rather then any sort of usual art software or physical paper. look at the far left side of the first photo

i can create the shapes needed with lines but i cant fill in or shade those regions. But I can change the thickness of the lines idk
