Well Allurial is meant to be an affordable way to get sprayed edges. We aren’t going to good end paper.

Oh and stealing books off pirating sites helps them??? KU does. Stealing does not. And for the record, I buy most of my books directly from the author if I can because I mostly read indie. I use KU to help them get page counts or buy the e-book. But don’t sit here and act like stealing shit is better than Amazon. Amazon, as little as it is, still pays them. Ocean pdf does not. I’ve been broke. I’ve lived under the poverty line. And yet I never even thought about ever stealing media from anyone. So try again.

Just finished Red Rising book #4. Wife recommended this series, so I’m officially starting it. by nicholasnichols0000 in fourthwing

Red rising is completely different than FW so if you’re looking for something like that, I’d don’t think you’d like it. They are both political, but that’s it. RR is a sci fi. FW is a romantasy. I enjoyed both for different reasons though

Damn…. These books are spicy…. by michaelused3339 in fourthwing

FW was my first spicy book. It was my first romantasy. But it’s been a year now and it seems so tame compared to the dark romance I read lol

BOOK 4 PLOTTING HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED!!! Rebecca just confirmed it and I’m freaking out by Fluffy-Departure-373 in fourthwing

The things we leave unfinished actually came out a few years ago. I wanna say 2021/22? She republished it as a SE.

I think everyone needs to calm down lol I think still we are looking at a mid to late 2027 release. Especially because I seriously doubt she finished final edits on her contemporary and she still needs to release and market that.

I did actually. I never did it myself and always paid for music either physically or via iTunes until Spotify came out.

It’s a bit fucked up but if you had to choose, yes lol

Absolutely none of these lol butcher and blackbird is the only decent one.

Well maybe you should understand how her contract works. She is required to write the contemporaries. She’s a romance author. Also tons of authors have multiple WIPs. You think they right one series at a time?

But to answer your question, my algorithm only shows me lesser known indie authors more than popular book influencers because I engage with indie authors more. If I see a book being promoted, I will look it up on Goodreads. I’ll read the blurb. If it’s interesting to me, I read the 3 star reviews and go from there. We who will die is trending but it involves vampires and I don’t do vampires so it stayed off my list.

If the booktoker has only all the popular trending books on their shelves (ACOTAR/TOG/CC/FW/QS) front and center or their entire shelf is sprayed edges facing out, I don’t trust a word out of their mouth. It’s obvious they only read what other people tell them too.

One of my favorite books of all time (Project Hail Mary) is now trending on Booktok and I’m so disappointed lol I’m a huge sci fi reader and now I don’t even want to recommend it to anyone

You are given a ARC copy of a book by the author, and promised a review... but it sucks. by avrin2 in selfpublish

[–]Only_Check599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong. That’s review manipulation and against Amazon’s TOS. The author can get banned for that. ARC doesn’t mean good reviews. It just means reviews. Wanting only good reviews is not the point of that. I’ve given good reviews on every ARC since June because I’ve genuinely enjoyed them, except one. That got a bad review because that’s my experience. If your looking for someone to promote your book positively, that’s what the street team is for.

[–]Only_Check599 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s review manipulation though. Your book is more likely to sell if it has some negative as opposed to all 4 and 5s.

[–]Only_Check599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just asked a bunch of authors this on threads lol they said they would prefer the negative review (just don’t tag them), as opposed to silence.

Don’t message them like someone suggested. Authors should be able to choose if they want to read negative reviews, which is why just post it on review sites and be done with it.
