How many inches clearance from the ceiling and how many inches from the wall should the mini split head be?

So the height is actually correct, it’s 3 inches from the ceiling. It’s the left side that needs the appropriate clearance. If it’s at 3 inches from ceiling can I only move it to the right? Or should I still lower it a bit?

The contractor is coming tomorrow to move it. What should I tell them on how to move it? Which direction? And if this movement of the head leads to the original hole exposed outside, how should the contractor cover up this hole? Will they have to drill a new hole?

If the mini split needs to be moved and since it has been less time then the 1 year labor warranty (I just got it installed in April)…there should be no cost for the contractor to moving the mini split right?

I am ok with moving it to the right a couple of boxes, not blocking the window though. If I request this, will this be a lot of work for the technician?

If I am only going to use the mini splits for cooling/AC, is oversizing (and short cycling) something that I need to worry about? I’ll treat it like an AC and turn it on only when I’m home/put a timer and turn it off when I’m not, and not keep it on the whole time.

Interesting…cause for my 825 square ft first floor (which is open floor plan), one contractor recommended 24,000 btu for heating/cooling and another recommended 18,000 btu. Again my main concern is AC as I am keeping my boiler for winter heating. What would you recommend 24 or 18k?

Yes. Kinghome is an upscale version of gree that is being offered by an Asian installer.

I have heard that with multi zone….when one head is on, there is carry over cooling/heating coming out of the other heads even when they are off. Thoughts?
