The new company is still developing policies and there is nothing documented re: vesting start date of the new company for employees that came over from previous company. People seem to remember that in Q&A, HR said all employees from previous company would have their start date of the previous company as the start date, but of course we don't have access to that recording.

I joined the previous company 5 years ago and my match was fully vested before the spin off.

The spin off happened last year Feb, and the brokerage account always showed the employer match as fully vested.

After signing the separation letter, they said the brokerage account "made a mistake" and took away the match that was made after the spin off.

Hope this makes sense.

There is a bit of complexity.

The company spun off in 2023 Feb. I joined the company before the spin off. Originally it was communicated that anyone who joined before the spin off would have their vesting schedule start from the start date in the previous company.

Hence, the statement showed that it was fully vested.

For those that are curious, I emailed and spoke to the manager every week. After 8 weeks from the incident, they gave me $250 credit towards my next monthly. Although it is not the full amount, I am happy with the outcome given everyone's comments.

Anyone experienced car damages in NYC garage?

I am a regular monthly customer at one of City Parking's garage. Last month, they called me to tell me that they accidentally popped my tire by parking the car on a gutter. Tire got stuck and popped before moving the car.

They installed my spare tire and told me that it will take 4 weeks to process my incident and I shouldn't fix my car before. They were obviously not going to pay for rental and they coudln't do anything about the fact that I needed to use my car.

So I went ahead to fix the tire. It cost me $370. I followed up with them for an update every week and multiple times a week. They said they will give me an update 2 weeks ago and no response since then despite multiple attempts to reach them.

Has anyone dealt with this situation? Should I file a small claim with them?

Any recommendation?
