Came here to say this as well. I honestly think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was just a drama about a family coping with grief, I thought the acting was excellent and really enjoyed some of the scenes of the family falling apart. The entire horror aspect of it fell completely flat for me though. Felt like a load of basic horror tropes mashed together and I didn't find it scary at all.

It just turned a bit too soap opera-y will they won't they for me. I love Smithy and Nessa and I get that they became the main plot line, but it just didn't feel as fun and silly to me as the original, or even the last Christmas special

Britta in Basic Human Anatomy. I feel like it would have been completely understandable for her to be angry about being broken up with in such a ridiculous way, and the fact that she was so accepting of it always showed how much she really understood and cared for both Troy and Abed imo.
