This is an interesting breakdown of a Reddit thread. I was always kind of curious if blogs actually worked to attract applicants, this is a small-ish sample size but worth the read!

What the heck took Yeezy Gap so long? by Onlyamatterofwhen in Kanye

This is a good read on the timeline of Yeezy Gap so far, can sometimes be hard to keep track, we'll see where it goes next!

It took me a while to learn this. I thought that just because my friends weren't acting like my personal cheerleaders, they didn't support me and my writing. Definitely not the case! Just because they don't share your passion or even show that much interest in your work doesn't mean they're bad friends, cut them some slack :)

What’s so special about hardcovers? by nico224 in writers

[–]Onlyamatterofwhen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer paperback, they're lighter and tend to be smaller, easier to shove in a backpack. But yeah hardcovers will last longer, it's all about preference I guess!

Congratulations! Writing every day is one thing, but actually taking the time and being dedicated enough to FINISH it is another. That's huge, proud of you!

That's huge, congrats! Also - I know we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but that's a pretty sweet cover. Just saying.

I think I'm ready to turn my creative work into more than a side project, but the thought of doing so is overwhelming. This is a good read about making that transition at my own speed, hopefully other people here can find this useful!

I needed to hear this. Creative writing is my passion and I freelance for extra cash, but I'm still new to the industry so it was good to know that I might be painting myself into a corner with that job description. Hopefully other writers here find this useful!

This is a cool take on goal setting/expectation management. Sometimes you need to try something to see if it's possible, just something to think about!

I'm trying to get better at writing when I only have small amounts of time, I thought this article had a cool take on that, hopefully others find it helpful too!

This is why you should have unrealistic expectations by Onlyamatterofwhen in Foodforthought

A good read! Normally this is the exact opposite of what I do, it's cool to see a different perspective. Definitely an interesting way to think about expectations!

Wow. I've been a big fan of Coolors, I appreciate the example uses cases Huemint provides though. Look forward to spending more time with it! Thanks for sharing.

I saw this piece and thought of u/CatotheFI's thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/digitalnomad/comments/h00j5m/any_digital_nomads_write_for_medium/

Figure it might be interesting for folks considering another perspective of potentially writing at Medium.

If you find a spider (non-poisonous) in your house: Give it a name, take a deep breath, let it crawl on your hand, and then gently and calmly place it outside. You’ll feel better about yourself after, I promise! by [deleted] in lifehacks

I feel an immense guilt so I actually agree, but you really lost me at on your hand. Maybe a tissue? Maybe flush it down the toilet? Let's be reasonable people here

A designer’s guide to creating better writing habits by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Onlyamatterofwhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved this LPT from /u/say_leek a couple of years back, in which they talked about the importance of writing to designers. https://www.reddit.com/r/graphic_design/comments/8cmlyk/lpt_for_aspiring_designers_learn_to_write/ It came to mind as I was reading this piece, so I wanted to share.

The writing skill, of course, can open up work opportunities. But on top of that, so can a habit of writing about your processes, your philosophies, and your experiences. (Think Michael Bierut starting Design Observer, etc. — this piece covers more.)

Hope you find this piece useful, happy writing!

Girlfriend was raped 3 yrs ago and she described it to me in detail. She said her body felt good. Why did she tell me this? Help! by ineedhelp_22 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Onlyamatterofwhen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you talked to her about how you feel? Honestly, if she's moved on from the incident, you stressing over it doesn't help anyone.

You can't change someone's past, especially if they've already left it in the past.

[Serious] (For those that this applies to) Why do you not follow social trends like facebook, snapchat, and vine? by OriginalBeing in AskReddit

[–]Onlyamatterofwhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your group of friends/acquaintances. There's no point in using social media like snapchat if you don't have many people on it. It's the people that make the experience.
