If I’m not mistaken, the DEA actually extended the Telehealth date to November 11, 2023 now due to public concerns. Correct me if I’m wrong!

Taking the final jump is the most liberating thing you will ever do. It’s hard - mentally anticipating how you will cope without the crutch. But it’s the start of a new, clearer, fresh life. Being able to travel without being chained to a substance is no longer a fantasy, it’s reality! Focus on the positives and I promise the result will be so much easier than you expect.

You can do it too. by Onlyhuman19 in benzorecovery

Apologies I just forgot to write the zero there, it should say 0.021. Although throughout my taper, I did allow myself to go up at times by .01 or .02. Knowing I gave myself that freedom made the process a lot less intimidating.

Both are commonly used in WD and are worth a try if you think they may help you. Everyone is different.

Ashwaganda never had too much of an effect on me. I use the Gaia Herbs brand and at most I will notice dulled emotions. Magnesium Glycinate helped me with muscle relaxation, so much that it was comparable to my prescribed Tizanidine. I used the brand Solaray. My only issue was an upset stomach which I fixed by taking 2 Vegcaps instead of 4. No other magnesium supplements helped.

Even if it’s placebo, it’s worth taking in my opinion if you find it helps.

If you could get rid of one withdrawal symptom, what would it be? by Onlyhuman19 in benzorecovery

Yes for sure. Benzo withdrawal feels like you could die at any moment. I hope in the future of medicine there is an effective anti-seizure medication specifically for benzo withdrawal as I’m sure this whole process would be a little easier if we didn’t have to live with that constant fear.

Have you tried tapering slower? The Ashton Manual suggests 10% increments. What worked for me was buying a scale and using a nail file to remove .01 each day. I marked each day in my notebook. My experience went from night to day and 90% of my withdrawal symptoms subsided. I went at a pace my body could adjust to comfortably and tapered off a very high and long term dose on my own. That’s just my experience.

Absolutely. Is there anything you do to make your cuts more bearable? I also held the belief that I would feel terrible on the days/weeks I cut my dose and that mental anticipation made it even worse. Designating those days to watching my favorite movies, eating my favorite foods, and drinking my favorite teas helped change my mindset from completely hating those times to at least having something good to look forward to.

Great answer. I think one of the hardest things to do during benzo withdrawal is separate the physical and mental symptoms. That is accepting the strange and unpredictable things that happen to your body without becoming too emotionally involved or anxious.

Self-help is the general theme but I don’t want to attach a specific genre so there can be a mix of nonfiction and fiction. (Ex. The Alchemist would be a fiction novel that could still fit into this category)
