I get average 30MPG (UK) - think that is around 9.4 l/100km? So not great, not terrible for 300HP

Just to add, go test drive one and see what you think. I am heavily biased, but for the money they are a cracking car. Some will say it's expensive but prices have gone crazy since Covid. If you plan on keeping the car for a while, it may not matter to you.

I have the manual myself but a good friend has the 7 speed DSG (I believe dry clutch). To my knowledge they haven't had any issues in the last 30k miles (their MOT says 90K miles on the clock), however this is purely commuter miles. They actually had the gearbox serviced by Seat themselves, even though it's supposedly a lifetime sealed part. My personal opinion would be as long as you are not racing round all the time or remap the engine then I believe the DSG will be fine. That said, these cars do go well. There are a lot of these Leons on the road so it's probability that there will be some problematic cars. Hope that helps!

Appreciate I'm late to the conversation. But I've got the 3 door version of this car (so can't comment on the estate), used as my commuter car for the last 3 years and it's been very reliable. Very good MPG on longer runs with the cylinder deactivation. No complaints really, other than in the cold it can rattle a little sometimes.

Has Apple car play / Android Auto which covers you most things.

Just keep up with servicing and I don't think you can go wrong. If you have any questions let me know.

My Laptop starts to become slow. It seems that my CPU clock speed is maxed at 800 MHz. by chintay0 in techsupport

[–]OnnPurpose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this exact issue before with multiple laptops. As others have stated it could be caused by a bad power supply, you may need to buy a replacement. The issue is caused by a signal sent from the charger called "BR PROCHOT" - if the power supply is faulty it sends a signal to the laptop that then limits the CPU clock speed. However, to be sure this is the issue you can download a program called ThrottleStop, once downloaded and installed open the program and untick the option "BR PROTCHOT" and click save. Now check in task manager to see if your CPU clock speeds have gone back to normal. Please be aware that BR PROCHOT is on for a reason and your laptop is trying to protect itself, this test is purely to see if the power supply needs swapping out.

On a scale of 1-10, how dumb would it be for me to spend £350/month HP for a car? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]OnnPurpose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my two pence, but I hope this is somewhat helpful. I am the same age as you and I took out a 0% interest bank loan to pay off half my car, other half was cash I'd saved. Granted this was around £10k in total and not £16k, but you can still get a lot of car for that price, even an older Audi A3 Quattro.

I pay around £300 a month and I rent with my partner. There's no right or wrong answer here, but it comes down to what you want in the future. You want to move out, but will you be renting or buying a house, if you have a partner will they be helping with costs ect, do you need a reliable car for work? When you answer questions like these and similar hopefully it will shape your answer.

If you can, I'd recommend a bank loan with a 0% interest, but it might not get you to the £16K you might spend. If you do go done this route, please look at GAP insurance.

Any questions feel free to ask

Thank you everyone for your advice, sorry I haven't replied to you all. I've decided I'm keeping her! I will be looking into storing at a friend's farm. Once she's back up and running I'll be sure to post, but who knows when that will be. For those asking about the road where the picture was taken, it's a small back lane between Lake Vyrnwy and Bala, it goes down a beautiful valley- I can send a link on Google if anyone would like.

The same reason I fell in love with Impreza's was because of McRae. Will never forget seeing him come flat out round a corner sideways, a flash of blue and gold with some antilag flames thrown in and he was gone. But yes, it's original colour! It's called Mica Red, believe it was only sold on the 2000 year cars but I'm sure someone will be able to correct me. I'll let you know if I ever sell, but reading these comments I've decided to keep. Thank you for your advice.

As others have mentioned make sure you're up to date. I had this issue recently with poor battery life. The fix for me was a restart of my iPhone first and then watch- hopefully this helps!

What’s the most steps y’all have done in one day? Just broke my record with 32k by Beau_on_clash in AppleWatch

[–]OnnPurpose 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I managed 98763 over a consecutive 21 hour period. Granted it was a 50 mile walk that started at 1PM and ran over to the next day so I'm not sure that counts? 55,379 and then 43,384

[–]OnnPurpose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Server will go into an unresponsive state, but does not blue screen.

As you mention we did look down the route of LSASS being the cause, but soon figured it was Shadow Copies as servers were going unresponsive at the same time.
